The Beginning Of Linstead

Chapter 2

Erin and Jay had been sitting at the bar undercover for about an hour, they noticed two talk black men walk out the back so they were waiting until they walked back out.

"So you do much undercover work?" Jay asked Erin as he took a sip of his beer.

"Yeah every now and again, probably nothing like you've experienced though" Erin replies raising her eyebrow at Jay.

"Huh." He said with a smirk "So you going to talk to me about your back story or?"

"I will stop you right there, again I have only known you for a minute, maybe down the track we can talk over a few drinks"

"Is Detective Lindsay asking me out for a date?" Jay gave her a charming grin.

Erin took a gulp of her drink nearly spitting it out "Ha. You wish"

Back in the van that Al and Voight were in, Voight turned to Al with a smirk, they could hear everything they had been talking about.

"Can you believe this guy, he's been partnered up with Erin for less then a minute and he's already hitting on her"

"Well when you partner two good looking single people up together you can't expect anything less. Just roll with it and see how it plays out, could be nothing" Al said trying to reassure Voight.

Erin tapped Jay on the leg, he turned around and saw the two man walking out from the room and down the corridor.

Jay lifted his hand up to were the wire was "We are making a move, hang tight."

He stood up with Erin and grabbed onto her waist, she made a weird look at him and then rolled with it. They started walking down the corridor and were about to open the door when it opened and a guy started to walk out, before the guy noticed Jay quickly spun Erin around and pushed her up against the wall and bent down to kiss her.

Erin was lost for words, she wasn't expecting that at all. Good save, she thought and wow her heart skipped a beat. She'd only known him for a day but there was something there.

Once the guy was out of their sight Jay pulled back and licked his lips as Erin wipes her mouth.

"Uh sorry, I just..." Erin interrupted him.

"Good save" she tapped him on the chest, "Now let's check this room out" They both nodded and went into the room. It was exactly like the picture, so they called it in.

Later that night after they had made all the arrests and Erin went and personally thanked her CI she was sitting at her desk doing the paperwork to close the case.

She looked up and locked eyes with Jay who was staring at her, she smiled and shook her head. This was ridiculous, she had never felt like this but she wasn't going to go down that road, dating a partner was not on her agenda.

"We are heading to Molly's, who's in?" Antonio shouted out into the bullpen "New guys, what do you say?"

"Yeah sure, I'm down!" Adam said.

"I will see you guys there just gotta do something first." Erin said before she got up and walked down the steps.

Jay watched her walk down the steps, was she feeling like he was? He looked up at Antonio who was awaiting a response "Um yeah I'm in let's go"

Everyone was sitting a Molly's chatting and drinking beers.

Antonio turned to Jay "So really man, you want to go down that road?"

He looked at him and shrugged his shoulders "What are you talking about Tony?"

"We all heard you flirting with Erin and then it all went quiet and she said good move? I mean what happened? Did you kiss her or something" Antonio watched Jay as he looked around awkwardly "Oh my, you did kiss her. Wow. That's one way of getting to know someone on your first day"

Jay shook his head as he watched Antonio laugh "Man it's not like that, I'm not like that. It just felt like the right move at the time."

"Okay just don't tell Voight that. Matter a fact don't say anything to Voight just try and ignore it all together"

"Yeah what's the go with her and Voight anyway, is he like her dad or something?" Jay said taking another sip.

"Why don't you ask her?" Antonio pointed as Erin walked through the door and pulled up a seat.

"What we talking about?" She questioned before taking a big gulp of the beer that Jay passed her.

"Oh nothing, look I gotta go or Laura's going to have my head. I will see you guys tomorrow" Antonio said as he got up and left.

"Catch ya" they both said in tune.

"So" Jay said as he looked at Erin.

"Don't need to be awkward Halstead, it was nothing." Erin said smiling.

"Yeah of course" Jay said finishing his beer assuming she felt absolutely nothing when he was feeling like a teenage boy that had a crush on his French teacher.
