Jay and Erin where sitting eating breakfast at a cafe, they both had the day off unless they got called in.

Jay looked up from his coffee and stared at Erin for a few seconds before she finally looked up at him with a kinked eyebrow.

"What are you starring at detective" She said with an attitude.

"We have been secretly dating for a month now, I think it's maybe time for you to feel me in about your backstory. I mean you basically know mine" He said reaching out and rubbing her hand.

"Jay I just feel like you will run away if you know about my family drama" she said pulling her hand away.

"Erin, I'm not going anyway and for starters I can't anyway. I mean we do work together" He smiled and snuck a fork full off her plate.

"Hey!" She slapped his hand away "Fine, what do you want to know?"

"Everything" Jay smiled.

........................................

Half hour later and Erin thought it was about time Jay told her about his past.

"So that's everything, I think. Good and bad, I honestly couldn't be more thankful for what Hank done. If he didn't pull me out from where I was in my life I probably wouldn't be sitting here right now with you" She leant back and tried to read Jays face.

"Wow. I'm really sorry you went through all that babe. I honestly didn't expect half of that when you said you bounced around here and there"

"Yeah I don't blame you if you want to run" She said leaning her arms on the table in front.

"I told you, I'm not going anywhere. Good or bad"

"You wait until you meet my mother, or if you ever meet her" Erin said rolling her eyes.

"I'm sure it will be fine" Jay smiled.

"Okay so enough about me, what about you? I know you were in the rangers and from how you deal with it you had a rough time" Erin said grabbing his head as he quickly pulled away "Jay come on, I told you everything about me. Good and bad remember?"

"Erin I really don't think you want to know about my past" she raised her eyebrows "Fine. Where to start? Growing up I was a little bit of an outcast, my brother was always the favourite. When my mum got sick with cancer that's when things really got bad. Will left to go to New York. I didn't have a good time after that so when mum died I enlisted."

"Jay I'm really sorry about your mum, the way you speak about her, she seems like she was a really lovely woman."

"She was the best" Jay paused "So anyway, war was defiantly hard. I went through some things that I wish no one would ever have to go through, my friend Mouse was the one that got me out of there when I needed otherwise I probably wouldn't have made it out. Anyways, when I got back I was in a pretty dark place, parties, alcohol, girls. Then I decided I didn't want to live my life like that so I joined the academy, since then me and my dad haven't seen eye to eye since, he never wanted me to join the academy so since then we haven't really spoke and I haven't really seen or spoken to Will much either...And that's pretty much me" Jay sighed shrugging his shoulders.

"So we have both had our fair share of shitty times then" Erin said forcing a smile.

"Yeah I guess."

"Jay I'm really happy, I just want you too know that" Erin said reaching for his hand.

"I am too Erin, but I still think we should tell Voight" Jay said with pleading eyes.

"It's no ones business but ours" She said leaning over for a kiss which he gracefully excepted.

"Okay I will leave it then." They both smiled, got up and left the cage hand in hand.

Erin couldn't help but think, was Jay right? Should they be telling Hank, but did that mean one of them getting transferred and she didn't want that.
