18. Skipping a Meal :'(

Daphne's POV

Finally we made it home. It had been a long day and I was not kidding when I said I was starved.

We had decided on telling Granny that a friend of Sabrina's and Puck's needed help with getting directions. Sabrina said she'd explain the rest of Granny asked any more questions.

Honestly, I didn't care what Sabrina says, just as long as she doesn't get us in trouble.

Okay, fine i was mad.

But why wouldn't I be?!

Sabrina lied to me, kept a mystery a secret, and even after I found out wanted me to stay out of it!

As if that was ever going to happen.

Red must've sensed my annoyance because she nudged my shoulder before we walked inside.

"She must've done it for a good reason." She said under her breath, as if reading my mind. Sometimes Red just says things that make me feel safer and make me calm.

I sighed and nodded.

"It doesn't mean that I'm not hurt." I whispered. She nodded.

"It's okay to be hurt...but you don't even know where she's coming from. You two should talk after dinner..." she replied. I bit my lip.

She was right. I needed to have a conversation with Sabrina. Just to know where her head was at. But that didn't mean I wanted to. But of course, Red wouldn't leave me alone unless I would.

"Alright..." I sighed as we followed Sabrina and Puck inside. "I'll talk to her, I promise..."

Once inside, Mom and Dad got up and hugged us.

"We were worried sick!" Mom cried as she squeezed tightly. After she released us Dad gave us a stern expression.

"You should have called. Or at least texted us where you were." He said, mostly to Sabrina and Puck. Puck rolled his eyes while Sabrina winced.

"Sorry Dad, we didn't mean to be so late..."

Late?

I looked down at my phone to see the clock read 6:37.

Yikes. We were normally supposed to be home by at least 4:30.

"Well this is a warning. If this becomes a habit, you all will be grounded." Dad declared. We all sighed and nodded.

I'm surprised he didn't ask us where we were. But then again he was probably tired. Dad got a job and with Mom took turns caring after Basil while the day went on. It was all pretty exhausting for a guy that was once asleep for so long.

Dad moved aside and we all walked to the kitchen. I guess were were all feeling empty stomachs.

"Ah Lieblings!" Granny cried as she hugged us each one by one. "You all must be starving. Lemme heat you up some food!"

"Actually Granny, I'm not that hungry. I think I'm just going to go up to my room if that's okay." Sabrina said with a small smile. It was much nicer than what she had done the other night.

Granny nodded and kissed her forehead.

"Oh of course! But if you want something to eat just ask. Okay?" She asked.

"Thank you Granny." Sabrina replied as she nodded to Puck and headed to her room. I hardly got the chance to think over the action of my ship play out before Red nudged me with her elbow.

"Now?" I whispered, raising an eyebrow. "But I didn't even get to eat!"

"Daphne!" She hissed. I groaned silently and rolled my eyes.

"Granny I'm not that hungry either." I said, even though it pained me. Granny and even Puck seemed shocked at my words.

"Uh...are you sure?" Granny asked.

"Marshmallow, you good?" Puck questioned. I took a deep breath and nodded.

"Well alright then."

I glanced at Red and mouthed "save me some." Before I left the room and went to go talk to Sabrina.

I walked to her room and stopped at her closed door. I took a deep breath.

Why was I so nervous?! She was just my sister! What on earth would I be scared of!? It's not like she hates me or I hate her! I just dislike her for leaving me out...

I carefully knocked on the door and bit my lip in anticipation. The door opened and Sabrina was now in the doorway, looking at me with a curious expression.

"Daph?" She asked. "What's up?"

"Um...Red thinks-I mean i think we need to talk..."
