Broken Wings

The Next Chapter is here revamped a little.

The days and weeks went by, and Ville decided to take a sabbatical, not wanting to leave her side. Even Anja had come over to see her. Alice would insist on staying in the hospital as well, and all of Ville's friends were there supporting him along with his parents and family.

Yet Sabrielle looked more weak and pale every day. She refused to eat, talk, or feel. Everything had lost its color. Everything was pointless. She felt as if she was worth nothing. She felt as if her wings had been nailed down and torn.

"How is she doing today?" Jesse said, worried for his brother. He had refused to eat or sleep, always staying beside her. This is why Jesse knew that this girl was important to him. "She is eating a bit more, but she is still so pale and fragile. If she doesn't gain the weight the doctor requires, things will take a bad turn," Ville said, his head down. He was emotionally, mentally, and physically drained.

"Brother, listen, I know you want to stay beside her, but you have to go eat, rest and take some time to recover. This is not good for you, and you have to be strong for her," Jesse said, worried about the man he looked up so much to next to his father, Sir Kari. Ville stayed silent.

"Besides, we are all taking turns to be here for her. We are not abandoning her, did you know? Your friends Alexi and Angel, are coming over here to be with you!" Jesse said, trying to encourage Ville to take care of himself as well.

"They are?" Ville said, grateful for their concern. Jesse nodded as Alice came in, carrying some water for Sabrielle and coffee for Ville.

"Here it is. I hope it's the way you like it!" Alice said an innocent smile on her face. "Thank you," Ville said, taking it and putting it down to give Sabrielle water. He did not feel like he wanted to drink anything anymore.

"Oh, you must be Jesse? I am Alice, Sabrielle's sister pleasure to meet you! Thanks for being here!" she said, extending her hand at him. Jesse shook it, yet it was not firmly. He looked at her. The resemblance to Sabrielle was amazing. Yet, in his heart, he could feel that something was off about her. "Jesse Valo, Ville's brother. I am sorry for what happened to you both," he said.

"Thank you for your kind words, Jesse. However, all I want is for my dear sister to recover. There are so many things we have yet to do together, starting with seeing mom. She so wants to make it up to Sabrielle, but now with this. I can only hope this won't make things worse for her mental health. If only I had been faster or more alert," Alice said, sobbing as she blew her nose.

"Well, at least you found her, and she will not be placed in danger anymore. She is a Valo now we take care of our own," Jesse said, the fire in his eyes burning. This girl gave him a strange vibe, and he always trusted his guts. "Thank you! that means so much," Alice said smiling.

"I must retire for tonight, but Mr. Valo will stay here, I believe?" she asked. "Afraid not my brother has to rest. I will be staying here for a while, on his behalf," Jesse said as Ville thanked him and kissed a sleeping Sabrielle goodnight. Even though he wanted to stay, he knew he had to have his strength.

"If you need anything, I will be a phone call away. It should be on Sabrielle's phone," she said once more, extending her hand to shake Jesse's. This time he barely held it before pulling it back. Alice felt 'wrong,' and he felt bad thinking this way. But it was as he felt it, a gut feeling. He had to talk to his mother. Lady Anita was good about those types of feelings. However, when Alice stepped out of the room for a while something in Jesse stirred a feeling of urgency. The urgency to not wait for a chance to speak to his mother. He had Sabrielle's phone nearby, Alice had 'found it' as she stated and had given it back to Ville to hold.

As soon as Jesse knew that the coast was clear for now, he reached for her phone.  He felt bad, snooping was not his style but he could not just sit still. "Strange?" he thought as he looked through the calls and messages of that day. It seemed like a normal conversation. Nothing out of the ordinary. Yet something did not feel right. He took his phone in hand and hesitated. Although he wanted to ask his mother, she had so many things going on that he did not want to burden her. He instead dialed Alexi's phone and waited as it rang.

"Hey," Alexi's voice said. It was raspy and deep with a growl in its tone. He was getting ready to have his driver take them to Helsinki. It was quite far from their location in Espoo, but not too far. "I need you to get here sooner. I have a gut feeling, and I want to bounce some things off you. Is Angel still willing to come? I know she is busy with her artwork and gothic store opening a new shop in London, but..." Jesse said.

"She is also holding her punk fashion shows in Italy next month but, she is willing to set them aside," Alexi added. Jesse looked around, making sure no one was listening. "As you know, If I go anywhere without her, she'll hang me, you know that," Alexi added. Jesse smiled sheepishly he could never handle a girl like that, he loved his freedom, yet she seemed to make Alexi beam.

I was early dawn before Jesse woke with a start. Alice was leading Sabrielle to the shower. Alexi and Angel had sent him a message that they had arrived. He cursed at having fallen asleep. "I will be right back," he said to Alice as he exited. He could not help but signal at Mige and the others to keep watch, which they did.

"We are going to be alright, sister, we are going home soon," Alice said as she washed her sister. Sabrielle had not spoken a word since that last time she talked to Ville. She was a lifeless doll. "I will take care of you," Alice said, suppressing a laugh. This is what she deserved. She suddenly jumped as she heard people coming in, two men and one red-headed woman with Jesse.

"So, where the hell is Ville!" Angel said, looking for her friend or, in her eyes, her 'older brother.' "He is resting at home. He has not, since that day. He was looking bad, and I had to practically kick him to get some rest," Jesse commented, shaking his head.

"As for Sabrielle, well, she is here, alive if you wanna say it that way. You will meet her in a few. Just don't' expect her to be, responsive," Jesse sighed. "My dear sister has gone through so much," Alice said, startling them as she walked Sabrielle out of the shower and back into bed.

Angel immediately got a bad vibe from the girl called Alice. Alexi trusting his woman and being so connected to her, felt suspicious as well.

"There see? so much cleaner now, you can rest, for now, dear sister, "Alice said, kissing her sister's forehead and walking to meet them. "I am Alice, Sabrielle's younger sister, and you are?" she asked, a smile painted on her perfect porcelain face extending her hand out.

"Angel," the redhead said, her appearance shocking the preppy blonde girl. Angel was decked in a pair of torn punk jeans. She wore a leather jacket with a huge WASP symbol on the back, and a whole set of other symbols. Her hair was blood red and flowing freely, her eyes were like fire and were making direct contact with Alice, and her handshake was a little too tight for Alice's comfort.

"I... a pleasure to meet you," she said as she looked at the man beside her. He was a tall, light brown-haired man with Viking-like features and striking blue eyes, dressed exactly like Angel.

"Alexi," he growled, shaking her hand. "This is my girl, Angel. We are Ville's friends. We heard what happened, and we are here to support him,"  he said, reaching out and almost crushing her small hand, making her step back.

"I...I see well...I thank you deeply, I do. Sabe is so lucky to have all of you. She was always such a lonely child, it must be a pleasant change for her," Alice said trying to not feel intimidated. Unfortunately, she sensed that these two did not trust her as easily, "However, you must excuse me, for now, I have another talk with the local police, to give them any more details I might recall about this incident, so see you around?" Alice said as her heart raced, and she nearly ran out of the room.

"Shady," Angel said, looking at her as she left, "Same thought," Jesse said as Alexi nodded. "But for now, enough of that, how is she? Is this her?" Alexi asked, looking at the girl lying on the bed pale and very weak.

"Yeah, the one and only," Jesse replied as they looked at her in concern.

I Will update soon. Thank you for letting me borrow Angel.
