[Akaashi Keiji's point of view]

I finish tossing the last ball for the spikers and walked to the bench, gulping down the water from the bottle. The coach is talking to Seiryuu and I could see her smile from where I was standing.

"Excuse me?" I heard Mizuki-senpai raise her voice at Seiryuu. Our team stared at the commotion on the girls' court, silence fell.

"Oya? Something is going on there~" Bokuto-san cooed and cross his arms, as if waiting for something to happen.

This doesn't look good.

[Seiryuu's point of view]

"You're not that good," Mizuki-senpai commented after staring at me from head to toe. I felt angry and that anger turned into courage for me to speak up.

When she turned around to continue running, the words just slipped from my mouth fluently, "You can rate someone's skills and judge them just by watching? Are you a fortune teller, senpai?"

I did not know what came over me, but there was fury in her eyes before her hand came into contact with my cheek. The noise echoed in the sports hall, and it was so quiet that you could even hear a pin's drop.

"Know your damn place," Mizuki snarled.

'Ah, this is so humiliating. Just bury me from the shame,' I thought as my bangs created shadows on my eyes.

It is a good thing though, my eyes were watery and tears were threatening to fall any second. I bet everyone is watching and laughing at me.

Fortunately, I was wearing my uniform and I left my backpack in my locker. My phone was in my pocket and I quickly dashed out of the sports hall before Mizuki-senpai could do anything more to embarrass me.

[Akaashi Keiji's point of view]

Tension engulfed the sports hall, no one dared to move or make a sound. Even the dense Bokuto-san kept his mouth shut. However, Seiryuu is my fiancée, I cannot sit still when she is being disrespected and humiliated like that.

I took slow steps towards Mizuki-senpai, my brows furrowed from anger.

"I believe that was unnecessary, senpai. To use violence against a junior, sorry to offend but, I just lost my respect for you," my voice turned out menacing and my words were harsh, but I believe Seiryuu is worth standing up for.

I did not want to hear what Mizuki-senpai has to explain, I just ran out of the sports hall to find Seiryuu. Today was eventful for her, and worry began to build in me.

Rain started to pour and the air was colder than before. I went to my locker, put on my thick hoodie and grabbed an umbrella before running towards the main gate.

I stopped under a small shelter and began to dial Seiryuu's number. She picked up after a few rings and I asked, "Where are you?"

"I'm at the cafeteria," she replied with a soft voice. From her tone, I could tell that she is mentally and emotionally broken. Getting humiliated in front of everyone on the first day of school definitely breaks someone down.

The sun was covered by the thick grey clouds, so it was dark in the cafeteria. A silhouette was in sight, and I could tell that it was her. She buried her head in her knees and her arms were wrapped around them.

Is she crying?

I quietly took a seat beside her and the atmosphere was awkward but calm. No one spoke a word and the only sound was raindrops tapping on the ground and the thunder roaring.

After 15 minutes or so, I noticed she was shivering so I slipped my sweater off myself and wrapped it around her smaller frame. At that moment, she looked up and her eyes found its way to mine.

It was until this point of distance when I realised her eyes were in a shade of alluring blue. They held so much emotions that I did not recognise. However, at this moment, it held pain and sadness.

She closed her eyes again and what happened next surprised me a little. She rested her head on my shoulder and closed her eyes. Although I was surprised, I could not deny the fact that I enjoyed this position.

We leaned against the wall and soon, my eyes shut closed. My heartbeat was calm and my mind was at peace. The sound of rain sounded like a lullaby and I got sleepier by the minute.

[Seiryuu's point of view]

I did not know how long did we sleep like that for, but it must have been at least an hour as the heavy rain had now stopped.

I could smell the familiar scent of Keiji's as I kept my head resting on his shoulder. I can feel the weight of his head rest atop of mine and I wish to stay like this forever.

My wish was soon destroyed as a streak of lightning flashed across the darkened sky and a loud clap of thunder boomed. I jumped from the loud noise and Keiji was woken up by my sudden movement.

"You're awake, how are you feeling?" Keiji asked and for some reason, my heart sank.

"I'm feeling fine now, should we go home?" I asked in a small voice and he nodded in agreement.

"It's raining again, put on my sweater," he noted and I sighed at the dreadful weather. He took our phones on the table and slipped them into his pocket before holding my hand and leading us out of the dark place.

His hand warmed my freezing cold hand and I grabbed onto his hand with a little more strength. When he realised my action, he looked at our intertwined hands and smiled down at me.

Before leaving the school, he asked, "Do you want me to call someone to pick us up or run back home in the rain?"

Excitement filled me and I answered, "The latter!" He flashed back a smile and before running, he pulled up the hood over my head. On the count of three, we ran into the pouring rain and I squealed at the cold contact.

Within ten minutes, we reached our apartment. The journey was memorable, there were people looking at us with weird stares and some of them were smiling at the scene of a young couple running in the rain with their hands intertwined.

Wait, couple?

[Akaashi's Keiji's point of view]

It was not the first I did something like that, running in the rain. I ran in the rain alone before, but it never felt so satisfying and enjoyable. I ran with Bokuto-san before, but I did not feel as much joy. Maybe I did, when he slipped and fall into a puddle of water.

But still, this time it felt different. I felt free, an infinite amount of happiness and bliss. There were people staring at us weirdly, but there were also people staring at us with admiration and smiles.

We were like a young couple, running in the rain as if we were unstoppable.

Couple? That sounds great, but are we really a couple?
