Chapter 20 - Sunshine

Nico's POV
Nico stood frozen what was he supposed to do? Was this even real? Will stood before him looking like he usually did except he was wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans his bead necklace that had eight beads on still hung around his neck. His hair was the same and his eyes for that matter. Nico figured he'd somehow summoned his ghost and touched the older boy on the shoulder and not only did his finger not go through Will but he had his warmth and everything. Will smirked, oh Gods that smirk that Nico had been missing so much. "I'm real, I promise." Nico pulled the boy harshly into him hugging him tightly not wanting to let go then his love turned to anger. The anger boiled in his veins and he hooked his right foot behind Will's and pulled it out from under him causing Will to tumble to the ground and Nico on top of him. "Don't you ever do something so stupid again!" Nico yelled.
"I thought you liked my stupidity?" Will teased smirking and the anger disappeared as fast as it had come. Their faces were inches apart and Nico breathed in the familiar scent of Will.
"I missed you." Will said inching closer and Nico swore his eyes darted to Nico's lips before diverting back to his eyes.
"I missed you too more than you could imagine." Nico leaned closer too. The two stared into one another's eyes until Nico closed the gap. His lips smashed against the blonde's and he closed his eyes. The kiss lasted a few minutes the two of them relishing in each other's company. Will wrapped his arms around Nico's back and rolled him over in the sand before pulling away. "I guess I have some explaining to do."
"You bet your ass you do." Nico said smiling in what felt like forever he grabbed a fist full of Will's shirt pulling him closer. "But right now all I want is too kiss you." Will smirked before leaning in and kissing Nico again.

Eventually the two boys came to the decision they'd been cuddling quietly for too long and Nico brought Will into his makeshift shack. They sat side by side on the bed and Nico couldn't stop looking at Will he was drinking in the fact that he was here and he was real. "So..." Will said turning his head his blonde curls bouncing.
"What the Hades happened?" Nico asked taking his hand to make sure he wasn't dreaming.
"Where should I start?"
"From the beginning."
"Okay so first there was a God called Chaos-"
"Not that beginning smart ass." Nico cut Will off.
"Alright so while you were fighting Achilles my father and I were talking about how to expose his heel we agreed that the heat from the sun should be enough to melt the metal but Apollo was in no state to help. He suggested that he bestow some of his godly powers onto me it was only temporary but it could kill me so naturally I was on the fence when I saw you fly across the clearing because of Achilles I knew what I had to do," So Will had done it for Nico. "Anyway after that I suppose I crashed and burned." Will's expression became pained as he probably relieved the cracking and crunching of his bones.
"When I disappeared I landed on Calypso's island I have no idea how but I figured great I've landed on the island that is no longer inhabited by the only person who could probably help me. I couldn't move, every time I did I had a blinding pain in my rib cage and practically everywhere. When I saw Calypso over me I thought I'd gone delusional since I hadn't had food or water for a couple of days I was severely dehydrated which can cause hallucinations-"
"You're going into medical things I don't understand." Nico said smiling at him and Will returned the smile.
"Yeah so Calypso nursed me back to health without her I'd probably be dead." Nico and Will sat in a comfortable silence just enjoying each other's company when Nico decided to say something.
"So there's something I need to say to you and when I thought you were gone it hit me really hard but I realised something."
"What's that?" Will asked looking into Nico's eyes.
"I love you." Nico whispered and a smile spread across Will's face.
"I love you too." Will pulled Nico too him and rested his head on Nico's shoulder in a sort of embrace.
"You're such an idiot." Nico said wrapping his arms around Will's back to being him closer. Will laughed into the crook of Nico's neck and Nico could feel his hot breath against his neck.
"I missed you saying that."
"Well I mean it." Nico teased.
"It's your way of saying you love me." Will pulled back smiling at Nico and Nico got this warm feeling in his stomach before he pulled the blonde down into another kiss but this one was sweet and gentle not like the other desperate ones. Nico pulled away but kept his forehead pressed to Will's. "I knew you were alive." Nico whispered so quietly it was barely audible.
"I would never leave you just like you wouldn't leave me." Will whispered back.
