The Quest to save Apollo

Chapter 1 - Another prophecy

Will's POV

Will usually tuned out when he ate because he didn't like it when people interupted his thinking. But when Jason Grace rushed in and talked to Chrion in a hushed tone, not hushed enough, Will's ears pricked up. "I'm worried about Apollo." Jason said between breaths he'd just recently returned from Camp Jupiter after building a shrine to Kym, whoever that was, he'd apparently ran the whole way down the hill and to the dinning pavilion. Chrion frowned. "We shouldn't speak now, later Jason."

"I'm afraid later will be too late." Chrion trotted and his tail whipped nervously. "Okay lets go talk but if its as urgent as you say then maybe we should call a meeting."

"Later I just... I just need to talk to you first." Chrion lead Jason towards the Big House they'd probably talk on the porch.

Suddenly Will didn't have much of an appetite and he sneaked off towards the porch of the Big House. Will hid himself in a bush by the two talking. Will had a feeling of something very cold beside him and then Nico apprared, Will almost jumped out the bush. "Holy Hera, Nico you scared the Hades out of me."

"Sorry," he grumbled "I saw you sneaking away what's happening?" Will put his finger to his mouth to silence Nico.

"I was with Ella and Rachel at Camp Jupiter and Rachel was talking about how she still didn't have the gift of prophecy then Ella started reciting one."

"What did she say?"

"The son's of light and dark,

Shall travel to the arch,

The sun god loses his glow."

"That's it?"

"Okay I think maybe its incomplete but Ella wouldn't say more and you know there's no gift of prophecy any more." Chrion heaved a heavy sigh. Will looks at Nico who's expression is hidden by the shadow of the bush. Nico placed his hand on Will's shoulder and shadow travelled them out of there.

Will hated shadow travelling it made him feel nauseous, cold and it was dark and being a son of Apollo he hated the dark. He looked around disorientated and realised they'd landed in the Hades cabin. The decor was horrible the bunk beds looked like coffins what was up with that and don't even get him started on the walls and the colours. "Urh," Will said disgusted "who decorated this place?" Nico looked slightly annoyed "Don't even bring up the decor." He sat down quite uncomfortably on the bunk. Will hovered for a moment trying to decide where to sit before he decided to sit across from Nico. Instantly Will realised why Nico was uncomfortable the beds were very rigid and hard. "Umm Nico..."

"I know Will." His voice was harsh.

"Son's of the light and dark that's gotta be you and me right?"

"Well it could be any son of Apollo."

"Are you saying you'd rather it be another son of Apollo?" Will was slightly upset.

"No that's not what I'm saying but it might not even relate to you and me." Will crossed his arms, over the past year he'd spent a lot of time with Nico and they'd become quite a team. Nico was actually funny if you got to know him and Will had an on going joke with him.

"Well aren't you a ray of sunshine?" Will smirked and Nico grinned back but just for a minute.

"We need to pretend we didn't hear anything." Nico said now deadly serious Will laughed slightly deadly serious.

"Of cause." Will left Nico's cabin and saw the other campers eye him as he walked out. Some people found Nico scary and a loner even though that may be slightly true he was really just a normal nearly fifteen year old guy. Will was 3 inches taller than Nico, he had dark shaggy black hair and he had deep dark brown eyes pretty much the opposite of Will, he had light blonde hair, he was six foot, tanned and he had light blue eyes. Yet they'd formed a bond when Will had took Nico's hands on top of Half-Blood Hill trying to show how nervous he was about just delivering a baby saytr he had felt an electric current go through him and Will didn't know for sure but he was pretty sure Nico had felt it to. Nico was younger than Will by about two years but that didn't really matter. "Will!" Someone called and jared him out of his thoughts. Will lifted his head and nodded at another Apollo cabin member his brother. "You have to come teach archery remeber?" He walked up beside his brother.

"Uh yeah sorry must have slipped my mind."

"I swear that Di Angelo kid is fogging your mind." His brother grumbled, Will pushed him playfully.

"Shut up." His brother laughed and they walked off towards the archery area.

The meeting was called later about seven at night. Will sat at the ping pong table where the rest of the head counselors had gathered. He noticed Nico was in deep thought and everything about him seemed to be defined, his cheek bone sharp, the dark circles under his eyes which had actually gone lighter and Will noticed his eyes were distant and unfocused. Chrion started to repeat the prophecy and how Jason had heard Ella peak it and it was probably incomplete. "If its incomplete how do we know its for now?" Clarisse head counselor for the Ares cabin asked.

"Don't you think its weird there's no gift of prophecy anymore and then Ella says this?" Jason countered.

"What worries me most is the glow part." Will said interrupting. "Are you forgeting that Apollo is also the sun god? If he's lost his glow does that mean the sun won't rise?" A silence fell on the table.

"Perhaps we should contact Percy." Chrion said standing in front of the ping pong table. The head counselors looked around nervously nodding in agreement. "No this quest isn't for him." Will protested.

"Then who?" Will held his breath he knew exactly but he didn't know if he should say. To his surprise Nico answered.

"Me and Will." Everyone turned their heads towards Nico as though they just acknowledged he was there.

"Right," Will struggled to get their attention back. "light and dark, son of Apollo and Hades." Chrion seemed to be considering it.

"What about me I mean I'm a son of Jupiter lightning."

"No I think Will is right it makes sense."

"But you said we should always have three people go on a quest." What was Jason's problem?

"Possibly but since the prophecy is incomplete we don't really know there could be a third demigod involved."

"Okay but what's the arch?"

"It has to be where the sun rises and falls Apollo's route."

"We'll talk later its getting late. Nico and Will rest well I have a feeling your quest will start tomorrow."
