Zara pov

"So what's up Aliyah?" I sat beside her on bleachers and smacked her head. She turned towards with solemn expression on her face. I furrow my eyebrows. She was doing just fine in the morning then what happened?

After the little stunt that I pulled, I stumbled out of the common room and crashed with Chase and Aliyah To say they were angry when they saw my state was an understatement. Chase kept scolding me that how I am irresponsible while Aliyah merely gave me a look.

After three more caffeine and puking my guys out two times I was somewhat sober but my head was already slaying me. I didn't dare to complain about my head because then it would have started another lecture from Chase.

"The sky," She grumbled. I laughed at her response. "Seriously Aliyah? That was lame," I laughed again, but she kept her eyes strained on something. I looked at her closely. Her eyes were red and puffy and there was an expression on her face that I knew so well. It was a look when you are hurt by someone, someone who is very dear to your heart.

"Does that matter Zara,"

I follow her line of vision and notice Chase with Ashley at the corner of the field sucking each other mouth. I groaned and looked at Aliyah who was now busy shooting daggers to the overly gaged couple. Everything seemed to click in my head making me gasped. She was furious because Chase was kissing Ashley. Shit, she is a goner.

"Your teeth might just break." I retorted.

"Well, at least I wasn't the one who has cornered her crush and licked his earlobe." She taunted. I gaped and struck her arm. How did she know the morning events?

I was so embarrassed about everything that I had done in the morning. That was the reason I don't drink. Never in a million years, I had thought that after getting tipsy I would go off on Ryan. At that moment, I was well aware of my actions, but I couldn't comprehend what possessed me. I didn't care about the consequences. I didn't even think about what image I was portraying of myself. He would believe that i am a whore.

"How the hell did you know about this?" I whispered and she just smirked evilly. "Well, you were tipsy in the morning, so something was bound to happen. Something dirty."

"I don't have a crush on him," I muttered angrily. I scrunched my nose as my heart skipped a beat. I don't know why but I felt like I was not explaining Aliyah, I was trying to convince myself. I took a deep breath to calm down and then looked at her. Her eyes were staring right into me. Reading and judging me. She smiled arrogantly. "Whatever makes you sleep at night sweetie."

"Don't do it." I clamped my lips together into a thin line. "Do what?" She asked innocently, but I knew what she was trying to do. She was trying to rile me up and then read me. She demanded answers. She wanted to know the truth. The fact that this was the first time she was pressing onto the matter made me angry, even furious but she was my friend. She was always there for me that is why I didn't want to tell her off.

"Do not give me the look where you are trying to read me. You think you will figure me out don't you?" I nibble on my lower lip hard. I was trying to ignore her gaze, and she was well aware. She groaned and propped her head on her palm. Her eyes turned darker but she focused on Chase. I looked ahead and saw Chase walking towards Ryan who was standing at the corner with Cassandra stuck on her hip. My heart lurched in my chest when I notice Ryan's arm twisted around Cassandra's waist. A feeling of desperation settled over my heart.

"I met Chase three years ago." She whispered. I snapped my head towards her with my eyes wide like a saucer. I titled my head with narrowed eyes. She clasped her hands over her head followed by a deep sigh of distortion. "We met in a cafe in the States and suddenly we were friends. It took me fuckin two weeks to fall in love with him and the best part Zara, I didn't even know I was falling for him hard until it was too late. The day he was leaving was the day he kissed me. I thought maybe he felt the same, but he left. He barely bothered to inform me that he was leaving." Her lips twisted into a half-smile.
