𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐒𝐇𝐔𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐄 one sided windows, as the hall hit a slight chill of coldness. the sounds of their shoes hitting the tile flooring could be heard echoing the large space.
vela followed miles into the music room, his question becoming more clear to her. a piano sat in the center of the room, trumpets along with drums following behind.
she cleared her throat. music was not always her favorite thing or hobby. the sounds were great, the feelings after it's done were not so much; at least to her. peacefulness was something that just did not last for her.
losing her mother was the last straw. vela completely let go of all things music related; her mother always loved the sounds of the blaring tune playing through an ear.
miles stopped as the piano stood in front of him. vela made her way beside miles; his figure towering over it. dust covered the keys, indicating that it was really old and unused.
vela could hear miles sigh. she rubbed her hands up and down her arms. the chilliness was becoming more and more intense by the se- cond. "what are we doing here?" she asked him.
he looked behind him, where she was standing. his intense stare radiated off of her body, causing her head to slump down into place as she fiddled with the tips of her fingers.
time stopped for him. he licked the bottom of his chapped lips and examined vela from head to toe. his mind took him to places that he had no idea could have been explored.
the silence cried for attention as his finger smoothly slipped on the key of the piano. miles finally took his eyes off of her; she felt him immediately slip his eyes from her and she felt comfortable 一 free.
the awkwardness was too heavy to hold , so vela scooted her way closer to miles un- til they were standing side by side. the luring smell of his cologne flew up into her nose the smell was too strong to ignore.
"you do this all of the time?" she wondered out loud. his facial expression went from light to nothing. vela had thought maybe she had brought up a bad memory from his vibe.
he shook his head; answering her question without speaking with his words. she nodded and continued to watch the dust from the old and rusty keys levitate, side by side.
vela opened her mouth to speak. the all too familiar feeling had become the host of the too. this gave her time to really figure out her feelings. but, he was right beside her this time.
"miles i..." she trailed off. her gut was so tight. he finished her sentence for her, " shhh j-ju st don't say anything" he turned his body towards her. in that moment. that was the moment that the two had finally grew on each other.
her sniffles were the only things that could be heard in the room, due to the unavoidable si- lence. his hand twitched from his hesitation build up.
his fingers slid by her cheek一his thumb caressing the soft surface of her skin. he thought of her so fragile and little. like a delicate kitten, waiting for a home.
their eyes had finally connected and both of them wanted, needed each other. it was one of those things nobody thought would ever happen. even if something did happen; they were bound to not talk about it.
one thing led to another and their faces were so close. she could feel his breath hitting her cold face. both of them gulped at the same time, withered up emotions flooding into idea.
vela was oblivious to what was happening一 what she was doing. realization that she had never told miles her feelings hit her like a passing truck. she tried to stop; her mind wouldn't let her.
lips finally communicated. the kiss was slow at first. both tried to adjust to the feelings of one another. it wasn't right, it wasn't right for the both of them. or anyone at that.
it did not matter, though. at least for them in that moment. their nose's touched each other's. his hand slipped its way to her neck ; slightly squeezing, but not enough to hurt her.
his tongue slithered ever so lightly on her bottom lip, inviting himself in. she accepted his ask. vela was no more so innocent as she thought she was. she would later perceive herself in a whole new light.
he moved back an inch as he gradually smiled for the first time she had seen him do such an action. her heart could have jumped right out in time. vela stopped herself from smiling for a reason she did not know.
the room echoed with the two's breathing patterns. it had started to rain without notice from anything. the rain ruthlessly hit the windows. the rain drops fought for speed down the slippery glass.
vela stood up as miles let go of her. it came to her that she had kissed miles. her eyes finally opened. no regrets touched her body, nonetheless. in fact she was proud of what she had unlocked of herself.
what she did not realize was that miles was like a curse一 a curse for everyone. he brought out the bad for anyone that dared to come close with him.
who knew. maybe, he brought out the side of vela that needed to be exposed to the world. the part that she had not unlocked yet.
would she had been proud of it? maybe not. but, one thing that she could have been proud of was the fact that her feelings were finally out and she could rest.
she cleared her throat as an indicator that she would leave. she need time , they both need- ed time to recoup. vela walked down the hall, down the corridor.
if only she knew celeste witnessed the whole thing.
