turns black. people fall into deep and heavy sleeps.
cars pass by houses and abandoned buildings.

almost like, the planet pauses for a second
to rest in its orbit. just like we as people do when
we are tired; tired of what life has become.

vela laid on her bed whilst staring at the
ceiling. she watched as the fan swirled from side
to side, almost like it was dancing.

little details like those made her wonder if she
would or could change things. or change the way
others think at life. anger or sadness lingers.

at the time she didn't know how she truly
felt. the kiss; more so make out was dented in her
brain and felt as though a fire was being spread.

vela was indeed confused and angry一angry
that she no longer had her feelings figured out.
now, she had to start all over in doing so:

she could only blame herself, though.
she's the one who went with it; even when she
knew it was wrong.

she flipped on her side . clearly reminiscing
over the chaotic day that she had just had. her
head hurt and her stomach did too. probably
from anxiety or anxiousness.

moments later, the sounds of multiple
knocks could be heard from the door. she paused
before opening her mouth to call out who was
it that did it.

only a faint answer was the only thing that
vela herself could hear. she figured if she got out
of the bed that she could hear them better or
just open the door and see who it is.

vela was sure that the muffled sound was a
woman's voice or at least a little girl.

she unlocked the door and swung it open,
ready to yell at the person who interrupted her
train of thought. that was until she saw who
it was.

"celeste?" vela questioned or spoke. celeste held
a pan of cookies in both of her hand, whilst a
smile was placed on her baby face.

celeste shook her head in slight sarcasm.
her hand rubbing the top of her head lightly.
"I-i know it's weird coming this late and all but
I thought maybe you were having a rough
night so..." she trailed off.

"no. no it's okay. I am having a pretty crappy
night full of crappy thoughts and questions " vela
laughed. both of them sat on the bay window
that lay close to the edge of the wall.

celeste offered vela some cookies as she sat
them on her nightstand. she accepted the offer
hoping that maybe a little bit of food would cure
her mini depression.

vela bit into them. the chocolate fudge bursting
in her mouth, as some of it dropped down her
lip almost to her chin before she wiped it
off with the back of her hand.

celeste thought about what she wanted to
discuss with vela. not wanting to ruin the happy
moment stung her as she was incapable of no
longer bringing it up.

she cleared her throat. a thread of silence
washed over the both of them, although it wasn't
awkward. more chilling. vela denied eye contact
as she watched the garden of plants blow from
side to side from the window.

"isnt it beautiful?" vela spoke as she admired
the way the flowers bloomed and slightly changed
it's color. Celeste was confused at first from the
uncalled for conversation.

"y-yeah..i guess" celeste gulped as she sat one
of the cookies that was in her hand on the night-
stand next to them. "listen-"

vela stood up, making her way into the closet.
she pulled out a box. it had small dents implanted
on the sides of it. dust covered the top and stick-
ers lay flat all over the box.

she gestured for celeste to come and join her
while she dug through it. celeste accepted the offer
and sat down on the carpet floor with vela. she
had begun to pull tiny objects, along with
pictures out of the small thing.

celeste figured that the pictures contained
her and her mother. seen, as there was a woman
and a small child with auburn hair that seemed
to look a lot like vela.

"is that your mother?" she asked, pulling a strand
of hair behind her ear. vela paused for a minute
and flipped the picture into the opposite side.

"oh I didn't mean to bring up any bad memory"
vela shook her head as she debunked celeste's
thought. "no-no it's just... she died when I
was a child" vela spoke.

celeste 's eyes widened. guilt immediately hit
her in the gut, even though she knew the situation
had nothing to do with her. just the thought of
losing someone that close to her was hard.

celeste no longer said anything and instead
she thought about bringing up what she initially
intended to bring up in the first place.

"you and miles?" after the long pause of silence,
celeste cleared her throat as she said those words.
vela slowly gazed up at celeste as she maneuvered
a couple strands of hair out of her face.

vela tried to act uneducated and oblivious to
her question; she knew that she would ultimately
fail in the end, but trying wouldn't hurt..right?

"i don't know what you mean" she spoke
after what felt like ages. the thought of the whole
thing made her stomach turn, almost like she
ate something bad and couldn't throw it back
up.

"yes you do..you know you do" celeste
pressured . "look-there are just things that you
need to know about him before you get yourself
involved with him" celeste sat her hands on
her lap.

vela nodded as she knew that she had to listen,
even if she did not want to. she knew that miles
had problems of his own and that she should
get to know him better.

celeste brought her grabbed vela's hands, as she
comforted her .
