At last, second breakfast was served!

As per usual, the dwarves ate with bad table manners, but luckily Bilbo was used to it by now. It was only five minutes into the meal and Bombur had already broken three chairs. Bofur found it absolutely hilarious, continuing to toss his brother more food from across the table.

Fili gets up from his seat beside you to brew a fresh pot of coffee. Dwarves' drink of choice is typically something alcoholic, but since it was still quite early in the morning, everyone opted for coffee instead.

Kili sits directly across from you.

"You know, (Y/N), I don't know if I've told you this.... but... you make my brother the happiest dwarf in Middle Earth." Kili tells you, glancing over at Fili to make sure he's not listening, "When this whole journey is over and you two get married, I'll be excited for you to officially become part of the family."

"Awww Kee! Thank you. That means a lot!" You blush, "I am equally excited to call you my family."

Kili smiles, blushing slightly at your comment.

Fili returns, jumping onto the table to serve coffee to the dwarves.

"Some for you, m'lady!" Fili tops up your mug.

"Why thank you!" You nod at him, a playful smile dancing across your lips.

"Some for you, brother?" Fili turns to Kili.

"Yes! Most certainly!" Kili replies.

After reaching the end of the table, with all of the dwarves happily eating, Fili returns to his seat.

"Did I miss anything?" Fili jokes, seeing you and Kili both smiling.

You and Kili make eye contact.

"Nothing much, I've just been gradually stealing food off your plate, hoping you wouldn't notice," you jokingly reply, snagging a piece of bacon from Fili's plate and tossing it into your mouth.

This earns a laugh from a few dwarves sitting near you.

Getting an idea, Bombur reaches for Bofur's plate, grabbing several items of food.

"Oi! Give me that!" Bofur laughs.

Bombur has already shoved the food into his mouth, so Bofur turns beside him to steal food from Nori.

"Hey!" Nori shouts at Bofur, smirking as he takes food from Dori's plate.

Before you know it, a full blown food fight has erupted. There are dwarves throwing things across the table, left, right, and centre. At some point, Thorin must have left the room because no one makes any attempt to stop it.

Fili hoists you onto his shoulders, passing you a roll from a pile of bread. You chuck it at Dwalin, but he catches the roll before it hits him. Now you know you've got it coming for you.

"Fili, run!" You giggle.

Fili takes off with you still sitting on his shoulders, sprinting to the other side of the table as Dwalin chases the two of you, bread in hand. He throws the roll, hitting you square in the back. You tumble off of Fili's shoulders. The fall didn't hurt you. Instead, it motivates you to get your revenge. You grab a fistful of hash browns, rolling it into a ball throwing it with full force, hitting Dwalin in the chest.

Someone sends a pancake flying through the air like a frisbee. You and Fili see it coming just in time to duck under the table, dodging the food. You peer over the edge of the table in the direction the pancake came from, expecting to see Dwalin or Bofur, but instead realizing that it was in fact a HOBBIT, not a dwarf, who targeted you.

Before Bilbo can get away, Fili sends a fried egg his way, lodging it into the Hobbit's hair.

"Nice aim Fee," You fist bump your future husband.

Ori uses a slingshot to fire yet another sausage at Bombur. The second Bomber catches it, the chair he is sitting on breaks, sending the dwarf to the ground. The Company breaks out in an outrageous fit of laughter.

It is at this moment that Thorin chooses to re-enter the room.

Three hours and an impressive amount of dirty dishes later, the kitchen and dining room are almost clean.

Thorin surprisingly wasn't too angry about the mess, but just to make sure you're still on his good side, you bring him a cup of coffee and a plate of breakfast. You managed to put a meal together with some leftover food that was still in tact. When Thorin left the room earlier, he hadn't gotten a chance to eat yet. His original plate of second breakfast unfortunately did not survive the food fight.

"Thank you," Thorin gladly accepts the plate of food.

"You're welcome," you say, before walking across the room to help Fili wash the last of the dishes.

"How did it go? Is he still upset?" Fili asks, referring to Thorin.

"He's alright. Thorin will be in a better mood when he's got some food in him," You shrug, "A hungry dwarf usually means a grumpy one."

There is silence as the two of you work together to clean the last few dishes.

You plunge your hand into the sink, checking to make sure there is nothing left to be cleaned. Apparently Fili had the same idea because instead of finding a fork or a plate, your hand finds his.

You both smile, turning to look at each other as your fingers intertwine. You stand on your tip toes, giving Fili a light kiss on the cheek. Fili blushes, drying his hands with a towel before using his strength to lift you onto the counter. He takes your face in his hands and softly kisses your forehead. When Fili begins to step back, you place a hand on his chest, pulling him in for a kiss on the lips.

"I love you Fili Durin." You stare into his beautiful blue eyes.

"I love you too, (Y/N)." Fili brushes a stray piece of hair off of your face and tucks it behind your ear.

The two of you leave the kitchen hand in hand, smiling like idiots.
