I put my phone back down on the bed and sit there for awhile. Waiting, and staying put as he told me too, a knot tying it self tightly in my stomach.
About 10 minutes pass by, and I'm starting to get a little impatient, not to mention hungry. Nevertheless, I pull up and Otome game on my phone and pull some pocky out of the nightstand. I keep it hidden behind the drawer so that they don't find it during inspection, and almost get my arm stuck. Then, I fall down on my pillow, laughing at Mammon (one of the Otome characters) for being so stupid and eating the chocolate covered stick. I'm still waiting dimwitt! What's taking so long?
Suddenly, just as Lucifer is about to DESTROY Mammon, a loud pound can be heard at my door, and makes me jump in my bed. I hit my head against the headboard and sulk for a couple of seconds before getting up to answer the door.
"Hi Todoro-"
He busts into my room like before, but before he budges by me I notice a plastic bag in his hands. From the logo on the front, it looks like he went to a school supplies store. You seriously took that long to go get a couple of colored pencils?!
Todoroki then places the bag on my desk, which is covered in the books I was reading earlier, and sits down on my bed casually. He doesn't quite seem mad anymore, rather annoyed instead.
"You wanted to talk. What's up?" He said, not necessarily sounding interested in the answer to that question.
I stand still at the door, kind of like a statue, if the statue was speechless, was still holding a door open, and had its jaw open enough for you to see straight down their throat. I quickly snap it shut and close the door, still extremely surprised by how calm he was now, then I slowly walk over and take a seat next to him. He scooches away.
"Um... S-So I think we n-need to... um settle this." He looks unconcerned and raises one eyebrow at me, looking a little annoyed.
"Settle what? Yeah, we had an argument but it's over. It's been settled since I left." I twiddle my thumbs when he says this, wanting an apology, or at least an explanation. My barrier isn't far from the point right now where I act out, myself. "Or..." He looks down at my nervous hands. "So I thought."
"I want an explanation." I say abruptly. I deserve one after all this, and he has no right to refuse telling me what he meant by 'MY friends'. As if I didn't already feel welcome enough, sheesh. He sighs and turns toward me.
"Listen, I only meant that I'm really close to them, and it just seems really strange that you entered this school with no recollection of anything, ever. You seem suspicious and I don't want any of them to get hurt." Fan-flipping-tastic. I sit down staring at my hands for a couple of minutes, desperate to grab onto a single thought in my head and turn it into an answer, but nothing seems to come up. I'm half way between infuriated that he sees me as a threat, and understanding that he wants to protect his friends.
He suddenly stands up from the bed and walks over to my desk, grabbing the bag of school supplies. When he walks back over and sits down again, he hands the bag to me.
"And, in any case you were looking for some sort of apology, take this." I look down into the bag and back up at him. "It's the supplies you'll need for the rest of the school year. I wasn't sure if you had already gotten them or not, so I thought I would get them, just to be sure you could make the most of our class."
"Why the sudden change of heart? I mean, you didn't even want me talking to your friends a minute ago, but now you're handing me supplies to come and join your class?"
"Well... when you sent me that text about Izuku being upset, I thought it meant that he must trust you now. Especially considering he helped you when... you know. I guessed that if you meant something to my friends, that means I have to get along with you. So that's the sudden change of heart." I nodded, it's a fair explanation and a fair apology. I feel myself get very light headed and my eyes start drooping all of a sudden. I didn't realize how much this long day took a toll on my body. So, I stand up and start to show Todoroki his way out.
"Thank you, for the school supplies. And I promise, I would never hurt your friends, and I hope my future friends, in any way, shape, or form." I reassure him. He simply gives me a nod before walking back down the hallway and disappearing into the evening. As soon as I close my door for, what feels like, the millionth time today, I slump onto my bed and finally settle down. This fucking school is chaos, I think and giggle at the thought. Lastly, I pull out my phone and watch some Riverdale as I fall asleep in my cozy covers, getting some shut-eye before my first day at UA.
Little did I know, I hadn't really see chaos yet...
