Kabanata 12:
Meeting The True Ezeli

"She didn't try to hurt us... because she said it's her fate. She had the power of destruction. She doesn't want to get lured by that power because it's dangerous for us that's why even though the village betrayed her, she.... didn't lose her smile...."

Prince Zeno doesn't know but something inside him stirred. His heart is beating so much that he have to breathe deep. It's something that he never felt before not until that woman arrived.

My chest.... hurts.

"She doesn't want us to be in danger. She died, smiling while feeling the flames on her skin. Her last words... she said she hoped for us to live peacefully when she's gone. She assured us that we will live because her power didn't succeed.."

"But she was wrong."

Dussle, who was just feeling nervous and happy, turned his head to prince Zeno. He looks like he's insane. He's smiling and yet his eyes are mourning for someone.

"The god of Destruction killed the entire mages. He was so mad because..... his beloved Archmage died. He was so in love with the Archmage that's why he punished us..."

"He used his power to devoured us. He used our mind and body to control us, to kill each other. Luckily, because I was a blessing and a devoted child of the gods and goddesses, I survived. I never lost my faith that's why I am the only survivor of the day of the destruction."

So that was the true story behind of the fallen mages, prince Zeno thought while staring intently to Dussle who's hands are trembling.

"The god of Destruction, with his last breathe, he put an end to the world. Everything disappeared but before the world collapsed, he said something..."

"The woman who was adored and killed by her people will always live. We will never forget about her even we'll die. She will live again and this time, she will be the one who will put everything to an end. The god of Destruction, left his power to wait for that woman...."

For that woman....? He doesn't mean that it's..!?

"Lady Ezeli..!?"

Prince Zeno was dumbstruck. Hindi niya yata ma proseso sa utak ang kaniyang nalaman. Is it the reason why he's hurting? He doesn't know. But that woman is fragile, how can she be...?!

Dussle, who have the same reaction when he knew that the woman who he's waiting for is back, look at his Highness and smile.

"I survived because the gods and goddesses protected me until a new world was created. I travelled the deserted place with the guide of the gods and goddesses. Then, I was asked by the gods to go to this empire and work. That's how I met you, prince Zeno..."

Prince Zeno was hurting. His chest was so tight that he wanted to cry but he tried to fight it. There's no way he would feel something like that.

"I'm sorry, Prince Zeno. I waited for this day to come. I waited for my true master. I wanted to say sorry for her. I wanted to serve her because I love her since the day I was born..."

Dahan-dahang umupo sa sahig si Sir Dussle. He then bow to his Highness feet. His tears are falling and that made the prince flinch.

"This time, I will surely save her, your Highness. I will save this empire... I will save your future. I will help her with all my might," he said and kiss his Highness feet as a sign for his devotion for him.

".... EZELI...."

Someone's calling me, Ezeli thought to herself. Hindi niya alam kung bakit ganun pero hindi siya komportable kahit na wala namang sagabal sa kanya.
