Imagine: Damon refrains from killing you after Stefan loses his humanity
Warnings: violence

Your POV:
You're a freshman In college, studying medicine. All of your life it was your biggest dream...to help people.
You've been going to clinicals three times a week.
It was Friday so it was your last time for the week.
You were practicing your phlebotomy this month.
You were always comfortable around blood, but not needles. They just freaked you out a bit.
"Okay Mr. Davidson, we just need a BC from you."
You smiled brightly at the older man in his 60s, who returned one just as bright.
He nodded as you pushed the tube into the spiral end.
The blood filled up the vial quickly and you were soon done.
You patched the nice man up and waved him a friendly goodbye.
He excited proudly and you cleared your tray.
"Go ahead and go to lunch, dear. I'll catch up with you later."
The head nurse gave you a nod and you returned one, leaving the room to the cafeteria.
You marched down the hallway, your footsteps echoing through the 2nd floor.
You grabbed a quick tray from the counter and grabbed a slice of your favorite pizza with a jello cup from the freezer. You hated hospital food but you got it for free because you basically worked here.
After you gathered your lunch upon the tray you went to a nearby table and plopped it down in front of you.
You scooped the jello into your mouth feeling it's jiggly coldness pressed against your tongue.
There was a slight draft in the cafeteria and it always made you chilly. You were glad you brought your sweater today.
You pulled the thick wool over your skin feeling instant warmth. A slight smile perched on your face.
It was only 15 minutes and you had finished your food. You carried the tray to a drop off station and left the room, waving a staff member goodbye for the day.
The ID card swung from your neck as you paced once more through the almost empty hallways. It was oddly quiet.
"Stefan you are insane, there's no way I'm doing this."
You heard bits and pieces of different conversations echoing off the walls.
"We need to run an MRI next, then we will check back up on you."
You brought back your attention to yourself finally and shook everything else away.
As you lifted your keycard to clock out for the day, you felt a tighter grip on your wrist.
Binding you from moving another inch.
"Relax, sweetheart."
The voice wasn't necessarily rough but calming.
"Stefan, don't do this."
You heard a different male voice call out.
You turned to meet the dark brown eyes piercing into yours.
"Okay brother...then you do it."
He stared hardly at the blue eyed very handsome man behind him.
The chiseled jawed man seemed to have been hypnotized almost as he walked towards you. Your back pressed cold against the wall of the empty hallways.
"P-please don't hurt me..."
You shut your eyes and looked away as he gotten so close that you could feel his hot breath on your neck.
"I have no choice....(y/n)."
He pulled your ID card from your hand and gave you a rather odd look. He was definitely up to something.
He made sure he was turned away from his brother.
"Better yet...kill her."
His heartlessness and coldness in his voice returned louder than it was before.
"Stefan, I can't do that. She didn't do anything wrong!"
The black haired man spatted back at his brother.
"Damon, you do it or I will."
Stefan was pissed off about something and it was not clear what it could be.
Damon took a step towards you once more.
He bit into his wrist very very secretly.
He held it up to your mouth and you were forced to drink the hot liquid.
You felt it melt down your throat as he placed his warm hands on your neck.
He gave you a look of sympathy.
"Damon, no! That wasn't the deal-"
Then everything went black.

.

.

.

Your eyes began to flutter open.
Your bright orbs shifted to moving scenery as it passed by your window. Everything was a deep shade of blue. It was nighttime.
You were in a moving car.
"Good, you're awake. Here. Drink this."
Damon was speeding down the highway and you were confused of what you were feeling and where you were heading.
He reached out a deep burgundy vial.
"What the hell happened to me and What is that?"
Your voice broke from the dryness and the hunger in the back of your throat.
You took the tube in your hands and lifted it in front of you, just so light would break through. "I was suppose to officially kill you...but it didn't feel right."
Cockiness sprouted out of him like flowers in May.
"Wow. Thanks."
You rolled your eyes turning away from him, but he continued to hold something out to you.
As you looked at the odd tube in your face, you gave him a concerning look.
"Blood."
His voice wasn't as cold as he was trying to make it seem. Damon was obviously agitated that he was in this particular situation.
Your eyes quickly shot to his.
"No way in hell am I going to drink blood. Why would I have to do that for?!?"
Your heart slightly sped up as you moved around in the passenger seat.
He pulled the car to a complete stop in the middle of the empty road.
"Do you wanna die?...or do you want to become a vampire?"
He said it so simply like it was a normal thing people hear.
Your stomach dropped.

A WHAT?!?!

"Wait a second, this is a joke...right?"
Your playfulness tried to stay afloat amongst the horrid things being said.
Damon began to press his foot on the gas pedal and the car revved off.
"Not at all, sweetheart."
He paused for a moment then continued.

"If you drink that, the hunger you're feeling right now will go away. Then you'll be like me. There's a bunch of other "rules" and characteristics that I will have to teach you about later down the road, but you can do it."

You listened to every word he said and you thought about your life and how it could change. You didn't want to die, but you didn't want to become a monster either.
"Where's that one guy? Your brother?"
You remembered the last moments leading up to this one.
Damon looked back over at you.
"I took care of it, he's not going to hurt you."
You found irony in what he just said to you.
You scoffed and kinda laughed at the same time.
"Right..because you already did."
You moved a piece of hair behind your ear, feeling overwhelmed by this whole situation.
"I didn't have a choice (y/n)-"
"EVERYONE has a choice!!"
You cut him off, getting a bit more annoyed than you usually do.
You turned the deep red cylinder against your fingertips.
"And now...you need to make one."
Damon's voice softened.
You continued to look at the liquid turning in the glass.
"But, what is it going to be like? Will it be bad? Don't lie to me."
Your eyes started to water and you mentally cursed at yourself for looking weak.
You changed your mindset hoping he didn't notice.
"Listen, I know you're probably scared out of your mind right now. But I told you, I will help you through it all. I will teach you things and I can get my friend to make you a daylight ring as well...which I will also explain later."

His smirk returned as he placed a hand upon yours. It felt odd like it may have been something he rarely done.
But why was he doing it to you?
You nodded your head and unscrewed the cap of the vial.
A deep breath flowed into your lungs and out again.

Here goes nothing

You downed the vial, and it felt similar to what happened before you woke up. But it tasted good. Like really good.
I guess this is day one of your new life.....
