Kylo Ren's P.O.V

"No, she didn't eat any of the raspberries the last two times. I requested pomegranate seeds. Thank you." I wave away the droid who brought Mera's tray of food. It beeps in response and the little black robot leaves my door.

I go to press the button to close the opening to my quarters when an idea dawns on me. I nibble at the inside of cheek and quickly stick my hand in between the two slabs of metal.

"BB-9E" I call, the circular ball turns and rolls back towards me.

"Put her food with mine in the dining room." I command.

He gives a very small nod, careful not to spill the food every where. The doors close once I pull my arm out from the middle of them. I rub my eyes with the backs of my hands in an effort to pull the sleep out of them, I still haven't been able to rest for more than an hour.

I shuffle to Mera's room, waving my hand to make the door open. She is still fast asleep, considering it's still 0740. We do not start training until 0900, normally I bring her breakfast around 0830. I stand next to the nightstand, arms crossed over my chest.

Even in the dark room I can see her small figure underneath the blankets. The comforter has been pushed to the side completely and the only thing covering her is the thin sheet. Her breathes are slow, so I can tell she is not fake-sleeping like yesterday. The side of her head is nuzzled into the pillow she is using, her face in complete peace. It's difficult to look away, but even with her being unconscious it feels wrong to stare.

I wave my hand slowly to the left and pull the sheet off of her body, her knees are almost touching her chest and both hands are underneath her pillow.

I subconsciously lean forward, putting one hand on her waist while the other presses down on the pillow. My head floats over hers for a moment before I press my lips lightly against her forehead. Her hand moves from under the cushion to over my fingers, her small paw wraps around my fingers tightly. The corners of her mouth turn upwards sightly into a relaxed smile as she grips my hand.

My heart pounds at the feeling of her touch, warm and tranquil. If I had been sitting I think the contact would have been enough to put me to sleep.

I take a step back, slowly ripping free of her grasp despite the constant screaming in my head telling me to enjoy it. My hand leaves her waist and I whisper her name quietly. She hums in response, obviously just now waking up.

My urge to touch her returns and I place my hand on her head, petting her hair softly. Her eyes open in an unhurried manner, and she looks up at me. "Kylo?" She says, the sleepiness still in her voice.

"Wake up, we're having breakfast." I say quietly, still petting her hair. She sighs heavily before sitting up, rubbing her face with her hands.

She must have just realize what I had said, "we?" she questions.

I nod and laugh a bit at how crackly her voice is right now. Using the force I flip the lights on. She makes a sort of squeak noise and covers her face with the blankets in front of her. She allows her vision to adjust to the sudden brightness of the room. She stands up and yawns before walking to her closet, "My dress from dinner is a little dirty, would the council approve if I wore my training clothes?"

Oh.

"It will just be you and me for breakfast." I say quietly, unsure of how she'll react.

Mera freezes for a moment and then turns around to face me, "Really?" She smiles slightly. Her eyes wander over my body, taking into account what I'm wearing. It hits me I'm still in my pajamas.
