Mera's P.O.V

The sunlight seeps through the cracks of the tree house, one ray of sunshine hitting my eye directly. I groan, laying on my stomach while my left arm searches for Kylo's warmth.

After several minutes of moving my legs around and patting the bed, I make the assumption he's woken up before I have.

Understanding that the sun is going no where soon, I swing my legs off the side of the mattress, scratching my head in process. Kylo's sweater is gone, along with his shoes, so I conclude he's no longer in the tree house all together. I yawn loudly, stretching my arms out and reaching for my brush.

As I comb through my hair something gets caught, I detangle whatever it is from behind my head and hold the object in front of me, internally squealing at the sight of the ring.

I'm getting married

I shake my fists happily, doing a little happy dance since no one can see me. I pull my nightgown off, folding it neatly and putting it back in the suitcase. I sift through the other clothing options, until I remember the chests filled with all of Leia's old clothes.

Taking what Kylo said last night about her wanting me to have them, I open the chest. The first thing I find looks freshly washed, no signs of dust at all. I let the emerald green dress fall open, a cutout in each sleeve at the shoulder and two slits going up each leg. It falls to my ankles, and I only assume that it was meant to drag on the ground since I am several inches taller than Leia.

The thought of her makes me almost want to cry, thinking of how excited she would be for me if I told her I was not only engaged, but engaged to her son. To Han's son. I sigh, slipping the dress over my head. It's a little tight, but still soft and breezy. I mindlessly braid my hair while traveling down to the forest floor while humming a few songs from last night and frequently gazing at the bright red ring on my finger.

As I walk off the final step of the spiral staircase and my feet make contact with the grass I hear someone speaking. I tiptoe my way to the voice, peeking out from behind a tree to the main wooden platform of the Tree Village.

Kylo sits on the log I sat on yesterday morning, speaking to the Ewoks how I did. A few are seated next to him, the others in front of him as he talks.

"I have never felt like this about anyone, she's just... exceptional." He sighs, looking down at what he's doing.

I maneuver my way around the tree, leaning my side against the trunk to see him better. He shakes his head and laughs, "No, she doesn't count. I was thirteen."

He shows his work to the Ewok next to him, "Is it over or under?" He asks, and only then do I look at what he's doing.

I smile, noticing he's braiding a flower crown similar to the one I was yesterday. Kylo nods, "Over, right."

He continues, setting his vines to the side momentarily and lifting a baby Ewok onto his lap. He wraps his arms around the little bear's stomach, holding him close. "There's something about her that makes me feel at peace. Her eyes, they sparkle like the caves of Ilum. Oh and her smile- I'm rambling." He says.

The infant animal in his lap pulls at his hair and he laughs, shaking his finger at him and setting him back on the ground. "I asked her to marry me last night, and it truly just does not feel real. Maybe it's only because we're here, and when we leave later today it'll settle in."

A few pat his feet and legs, a sign of comfort. He smiles, adding the final knot at the end of his crown. He sets it behind him, on top of a few I had made last night when I couldn't sleep. I tilt my head to the side, grinning widely at the sight of his messy hair.
