(Shifting away from the Dragon Games for a while)
Parrot had decided to stay back at the Roost with Dak and Leyla instantly. It wasn't much of a suprise.
Besides, nothing bad could happen away from all the dragons, right?
Yet he had a strange feeling, like there was something dark behind these Dragon Games, something hidden in the shadows that sparked up his anxiety. He shivered outside the door to the Roost, even thought it was bright daylight he still felt like he was in the dark of the night with the sudden feeling he was having.
"You ok?" Leyla's voice came out of nowhere and Parrot felt a sudden hand on his scales.
He jumped up, squawking, his eyes darted around until they met Leyla, and he calmed down.
"What's got you so jumpy?" Leyla asked.
"I-I don't know. I just... feel something..." Parrot said and turned to the direction he thought the feeling originated from. Just as he looked, a yellow blast appeared in the air a little way's away from Huttsgalor along with a familiar sound.
The familiar sound was the blast sound of a... a... a Lightfury! What if it was on of BoulderDeath's followers? He started to panic.
He then thought of what his family would think of him if he started to panic at the slightest trace of a BoulderDeath Follower and instantly felt ashamed.
"Did you see that?" Dak ran up, excitement in his eyes.
"We have to check it out!" He continued swiftly climbing onto Parrot's back no problem.
"Um, we?" Parrot squawked nervously.
"Yea! Your the only dragon here soooo." Dak held onto Parrot horns.
"Dak, you can't force Parrot to-" Leyla started.
"Come on, come one!" Dak interrupted, urging Parrot.
Parrot really didn't know what to do. He didn't want to disapoint Dak but he also wanted to stay safe. Then he thought of his father's disaproving glare and hesitantly took flight.
Dak tugged on Parrots horns, taking control almost imediatley and steering him towards the direction of the blast. He cautiously glided towards the source.
There were more blasts, each farther out in fron of Dak and Parrot. Dak urged Parrot to follow eahc and every one, which lead them away from Huttsgalor, which started to make Parrot more panicey.
Eventually a smudge was on the horizon, it seemed to be a large island. Parrot had a very, very bad feeling about the island. He didnt want to fly closer, he stopped out of fear, much to the disapointment of adventure-craving Dak.
Just as one more yellow blast sounded, the ground started to shake immensly. The sea tossed and turned and jumped like no tommorow. It literally felt like the earth was beingturned on it's side several time.
This was no earthquake. Even the dumbest of dragons would know it.
Parrot's eyes widened, his heart beat faster. He could hardly fly anymore, he felt the world spinning. Then suddenly he couldnt breathe anymor as he was plunged underwater, the ground still shaking violently.
He didn't know yet but Dak was no longer on his back.
Parrot resurfaced, his eyes wild and his heart pounding. A wave of panic along with a real life wave overtook him visiously. The shaking faltered for a second and Parrot saw a sight like no other.
Larger than life white, blood-stained jaws rose up from disturbed water like the jaws of death itself. It closed over the island and sank back, slowly and menacingly. Parrot could hardly believe what he was seeing.
When the ground stopped shaking, Parrot kept floating there in the sea water, barely keepig himself afloat, overwhelmed by shock and horror. He then twitched in surprise as he felt something bump against his body.
He turned and saw the floating dead body of a Lightfury with a chuck ripped off from it. He looked away instantly, absoluetley horrified.
Wait.
He looked around.
Where was Dak?
---------
Huttsgalor had felt the nasty, deathly tremors. Buildings sat ruined by the quake, fires sparked everywhere.
Leyla barely managed to pull herself out of a pile of training targets, barrels, and a fallen tree. Her left arm was siezed by pain and her knew was bleeding badly.
She looked around for somethign to lean on, she foudn a half-uprooted tree and leaned on it huffing. She then realized that Parrot and Dak were still out there.
But before than she noticed the hundred foot tall wave looming over Huttsgalor...
