Chapter 7. Part 1.
Your (eye colour) eyes widened in excitement as you took in the sight before you. Today was the day of Karasuno's annual sports festival and you haven't ever seen the school so colourful obviously it is your first year at Karasuno. Students were standing along the corridor and outside their classes yelling and screaming.
You could feel adrenaline running all through your veins as you made your way to class 1-4. You kicked open the doors as you shouted.
"CLASS 1-4, WHO'S READY TO KICK SOME BUTT?!"
A loud cheer could be heard throughout your class as you tried hyping them up. Every year during the sports festival, one class is awarded the award 'best class'. The 'best class' award goes to the class who wins the most field events. This year, your class was aiming for that award.
(Best friend) passed you your blue headband as she started to praise you. "Good job on hyping the class. I did a good job of picking you to be our class cheerleader."
"Of course it was a good idea! I am the best after all!" You gave her a thumbs up, a smirk making its way onto your face.
(Best friend) simply laughed as you stood there, a huge grin laid on your face. "Yeah, yeah now get ready the field events are about to start."
You saluted (best friend) as she walked away before heading over to your favourite blonde who was sleeping on his desk, his headphones blasting music into his pale ears. Tsukishima started to slowly wake up to the noise around him. Students were shouting and cheering, making a lot of noise while getting ready for the field events. Tsukishima let out a little "tch", not really understanding why everyone makes a huge deal out of events like this. After all, it's just a sports festival.
You pulled off Tsukishima's headphones and placed them down on his desk, you smiled down at him. "What's with the face? It's the day of the sports festival so cheer up. You don't suit looking angry all the time."
Tsukishima glared up at you for disrupting his peace before placing a very forced smile on his face, you could hear the sarcasm in his voice as he replied. "How's this for you? Leave me alone, munchkin."
You tried to ignore your usual nickname Tsukishima calls you. "That's the saltyshima I know and love! Now come help us earn some medals."
"Tch. Unlike you, I'm not so big on winning. The only reason I'm here is that someone forced me to sign up for the 500m run." He rolled his eyes at you.
"Now there's the team spirit I'm looking for! We're all going to head to the field now. Remember don't forget your headband!" You yelled as you tied the headband around your head."
Tsukishima stood up and walked beside you as you guys walked outside. As class 1-4 made their way onto the field, you chatted excitedly about what you think was going to happen as Tsukishima looked completely out of it, not listening to a single word you're saying.
You glanced at the tall blonde who had a bored expression on his face, but you knew what was hidden behind those boring eyes.
"The winner of the girls' 500m race is Ukai (name)!"
The host announced, his voice ringing throughout the loudspeakers. Class 1-4 let out a huge cheer, their voices ringing throughout the field. You let out a huge smile feeling so proud of your accomplishments, not even looking like you're out of breath. Some of the girls looked completely out of it, some of them lying on the floor trying to catch their breath.
Your (eye colour) eyes landed on a certain pair of golden eyes, Tsukishima smirked at you and gave you a simple nod. That was more than enough to tell you that he was happy you won first place. All those years of volleyball training had really paid off, the race felt like a walk in the park for you.
