"So you are not going to give me your number?" He asked as his eyes trailed my body while I put on my clothes.
"Why do I need to? It's an one night stand." I shrugged. "Lets keep it that way."
He laughed. "I guess."
It was not that he wasn't attractive because he was a sex god. It wasn't even because last night was boring, or bad, it was simply because I didn't want any kind of relationship. Even if it just meant sex.
Grabbing my purse and phone, I gave him a last smile before walking out of the door of the hotel. As I walked towards the elevator, my phone started ringing. Picking it up, I got into the elevator. "Hello?"
"Yo, WHERE ARE YOU?" Darren, my brother, screeched in my ears.
"Chill, I am fine. Didn't I tell you yesterday I am going on a date?"
"Yes but you didn't tell me you were going to stay the night out."
I rolled my eyes. "I thought that part was the most obvious."
I heard a sigh from the other end. "When will you stop hooking up with random guys and just settle down? John isn't going to return. Get over it. Get over him."
"Who the hell said I am not over him huh?" I barked as I watched the elevator door open and a tall, broad man in a suit walk in. But what caught me off guard was the mask on his face.
Suddenly creeped out by this, I scooted slightly away from him and towards the elevator door while he stood in the very back corner. "Hey? Ava? What's wrong?" Darren's voice called out.
"Uh, what?" Keeping my attention on him, I pressed the button to the very next floor so that I could get off and get away from that man.
I felt a really weird sensation of being watched. I felt his eyes on me from beneath the mask. My eyes intensely stared at the red numbers as the elevator went down and waited for the floor to quickly come.
"I am over John. I can do whatever the fuck I want. You are nobody to judge or dictate me." I said to my brother as I tried to make everything seem normal and continuing the conversation.
"Well do your thing then. I am busy. I will talk to you later." He huffed and with that he hung up.
Wow, great, now I am alone here with this dude.
Thankfully the floor arrived in a second and the elevator doors opened with a ding. Sighing in relief, I cautiously stepped out and still felt the scorching burn of the man's stare on my back. When the sound of the elevator doors closing reached my ears, my feet immediately hurried towards the staircase.
The hallway was empty and I couldn't figure out if anyone was there in any of the rooms. The hotel wasn't a big, fancy place. It was one of those small, cheap, close to motel kind. Many of the floors had very few people in the rooms. That's why to see a man wearing a suit and mask definitely had my alarms go off.
As I practically ran to the staircase, a terrifying sound came from behind. The elevator doors opening again. Footsteps. Fast. Towards me.
I turned my head to peek behind me and saw the man stalking towards me leisurely. His walk was slow and calculated. That's when I started bolting in full force. I had no idea what was happening or for whatever the reason this man was after me. But fucked up people didn't need logical reason to torture somebody and that alone made the adrenaline in me act up.
As I reached the staircase, I opened the door to it and ran down the stairs hastenedly. Right now, I was on second floor so I could easily reach the reception and get help if I could escape him.
When the staircase door to the first floor arrived, I almost released a breath of relief. My heart was hammering against my chest and I huffed as I tried to catch my breath.
But before I could run again, a similar looking man walked through that door, only this one was slightly shorter and with a different coloured suit. My eyes widened as I shockingly stared at him advancing towards me.
"Who the fuck are you all?" I growled, my hands turning into fists. "If you think I am going down without a fight, then you are wrong."
I heard a chuckle from him. "Cute."
And it was all he said before he charged at me.
