My feet thuded against the ground, snapping twigs and crushing leaves beneath my feet. The thunders booming from the sky created a strange cacophony of screams within me as I tried to make my legs work faster and escape the hellhole I had entered.
My eyes were frantically searching around me to see anything but treacherous arms of trees all curling towards me. But there was nothing. Only dark forest surrounding me and lightening cracking above me.
My breath came in short huffs as I ran as fast as possible, my ears dreading the sound of a pair of footsteps behind me. When finally I felt like my chest was about to burst open, I hid behind a tree and tried to catch my breath.
Sweat trickled from every corner of my body and mixed with blood coating on my skin. I looked at the blood soaked cloth surrounding the wrist of my right hand and scrunched up my face in pain. I was becoming dizzy each passing second and this was not a good sign. The pleasing feeling of just collapsing here was slowly taking over me but as soon as I heard his voice, my eyes jerked open in fear and alarm.
"Where are you, kitten? Do you think I won't be able to find you?"
His chilling, teasing voice made my heart move faster, my hands turning cold. I had no idea how he had caught up with me so fast. And then, my eyes fell on...
the trail of blood from my hand behind me, leading upto where I was right now.
His eyes followed the same trail of blood with a predatory gaze with a pinch of excitement dancing in his eyes. I gulped, took a deep breath and made my legs bolt again from there. But that sound caught his attention and his head snapped at my direction, before giving me a long, eye reaching smile and running behind me.
His lanky body stormed towards me with full force and I ran as fast as possible. He started chuckling behind me in his high pitched voice sending shivers down my spine. That was the moment I realised how much I hated Ace, how much I hated the fact that I ever fell in love with him and how much I hated that he was not here to help me.
I was alone, completely alone in this.
Dom was gone, I despised Ace and I was about to die; how did things go downhill so fast?
