Dom was gone, I despised Ace and I was about to die; how did things go downhill so fast?

I heard Ko dash behind me and the intense fear in my heart pushed my legs to move rapidly forward. But to no avail, he was still getting closer and closer and soon enough he jumped at me and we both tumbled on the ground.

He pinned to the ground and he stared at me with a crazy, giddy look in his eyes. I thrashed under him, trying to get away, but I no longer had any energy in me. "Got you, kitten. Because of this little stunt you pulled, my boss won't be very happy."

"Fuck you." I rasped out, snarling at him. "Kill him, I fucking dare you to kill me right here, right now."

His lips curled into his signature creepy smile. "Then I won't be able to do the things I have planned to do with you." He neared me and whispered in my ears, "I won't be able to make your dead body scream now, will I?"

I shuddered, closing my eyes as I felt a sense of hopelessness bubble in me. I felt his hands caress my face before going below and below and under my shirt. A drop of tear trickled out of my eyes as I silently whimpered. But just as I was about to give up all my hope and dissociate myself to a mere shell of a person, something shocking happened.

Ko toppled off my body on the ground in a seemingly lifeless manner.

I opened my eyes and they turned into huge gaping holes as I stared at the person in front of me, holding a huge rock in their hands and huffing heavily. Familiar icy blue eyes were staring into mine.

"Dom!"

I broke into tears and stood up, wrapping my arms around him and clutching him tightly. He dropped the rock and embraced me back, caressing the back of my head. "I fucking knew you weren't dead. You are too annoying to leave this world this early and give it peace." I cried at his chest as I felt him give a laugh.

"I literally had a near death experience and expected you to confess your undying love for me when we meet but instead you just roasted me like usual." He joked softly and yet his voice held a sense of exhaustion and pain. He pulled back and wiped my tears saying, "You have such an ugly crying face so stop crying."

"Shut the fuck up." I gave him a smile through my tears. I finally felt alive again and extremely thankful that nothing had happened to Dom.

For the first time, I could see his face. It was a handsome face for sure, pretty close to how I imagined him to be. But now was not the time to admire his beauty so I turnef around and looking at the unconscious asshole lying on the ground, I poked him with my feet. "Is he dead or what?"

"I don't know. Should we kill him properly?" Dom asked. "But we need to get out of here. We are still not safe. Let's not waste time killing him and instead run."

And no more further words were needed as I nodded and we both started bolting forward. Dom was leading the way while holding my hand and we both skimmed past trees and tried to navigate through the black forest. At one point, if things couldn't get worse, it started raining.

"Do you know where we are going?"

"Yes." He nodded. "I am good with directions, even at night. If my calculations are correct, we will come across a highway in three minutes."

"How do you know all of this? Have you come here before?" I asked as I felt my legs turn more and more wobbly with each passing step.

"Well, when they thought I was unconscious from the drug I was actually half awake and observed the path, the time and the distance that lead me to where I was buried. So, I don't know, let's just hope we find the highway and also someone who is willing to give us a ride."

I tripped over something and went flying face forward on the ground. I no longer had any energy, the wound on right hand was throbbing and my left one was still broke and in constant pain. I tried to stand up but I failed, falling on the ground again. I expected Dom to get annoyed and ask me to get up, but instead he came to me and picked me up  on his back, giving me a piggyback ride.

He still didn't slow down and I had no idea how this man was still so energetic after fighting, being drugged and buried alive. After approximately five minutes, we did come across a road surprisingly. But unfortunately, it looked like an abandoned road, probably out of use.

"Well...? So what now?"

He put me back on my feet, his eyes fixed on the road in front of him. "I don't know."

I sat on the ground, sighing. "I guess we are doomed then."

But just then, a flashing pair of headlights starting coming towards our direction. Dom started waving his arms and the car slowly came to a stop.

"You are not going to do anything to her!" Ace bellowed, his eyes having a raging storm in them.

Armando, his father, came in front of him, smiling. "I won't even need to do anything, Ko has probably even showed her the video by now. I bet she's already emotionally gone and hates you, my dear murderer son."

Ace watched his father with an unwavering fear. "You didn't..."

His father gave out manical laugh. "What makes you think I didn't? I did and I am so glad that I decided to record that day when you killed her mother."

"I didn't kill her mother, you made me!" Ace screamed, tears flowing out of his eyes as he thrashed against the chains tying him. "You told her me you will kill her and her father too!"

"You still didn't have to do it." Armando laughed. "Just accept it kid, you are just like me. You are evil, you are a monster and you enjoy everything of it."

"No I am not." Ace gritted out, his teeth grinding against each other.

His father suddenly dropped his snarky tone and took up a sweet, fatherly voice. "Ace, I love my son. Return back to me. Let's live like old times. I miss you. Forget about everything, just make yourself a part of me, a shadow."

"No."

"Yes and you will." Armando gripped Aces face, growling, "Just like old times Ace, if you don't listen to me, if you don't work for me, if you don't forget her, I will kill her." Nearing his face, he gave Ace's face a malicious smile, "And this time I am not bluffing."
