I roamed the living room of Ace's small apartment nervously, biting my lip. As I stormed around here and there, Ace came out of the shower. A towel was wrapped only around his waist, which was also hanging dangerously low leaving the ridges of abs and the hard planes of his naked chest to my vision. He had become more buff that the last time I had seen him with muscles ripping from every part of his body.
But even if his body was mesmerisingly pleasant to my eyes and mind, my heart was still worrying for my friends. Joe was hurt and I wasn't sure if Dom and Tom were okay when they had went out to check the commotion outside. I was scared for their well-being and the crease between my brows probably had told Ace about it.
Ace threw his towel on the back of a chair and his hand went through his wet curls. "Worried about them?"
"You aren't?" He gestured me to sit on the sofa and then chose a stool to sit on fro himself, placing it across from me while folding his hands.
He didn't answer to that. Instead he said, "They are fine, I promise you."
"How can you say that they are fine?"
"Because it's my men who y'all were planning to fight against." He said calmly. "I have advised them not to hurt anyone. It was just to scare you all or make you hate me. Nothing more."
"Well Joe certainly got hurt." I shot back.
"That was an accident. He was the one who had jumped out to one of my men and attacked him. But I assure you his wound is not serious or deep."
I sighed, closing my eyes. "Everything is a mess."
"It's always a mess when I am present." His deep voice commented. His voice sounded like it was broken, as if he had given any form of hope out of his life. "As I said it's better off without me."
I stood up and shook my head at him disapprovingly. "Ace, we came all the way just for you. Three years, three fucking years we were searching for you. You might be in some big problem but that's what we want to resolve and solve. We care about you Ace so stop pushing us away. Especially, I-"
"Why do you care about me so much?" Ace snapped at me, meeting my eyes finally. There was anger in them. "Is it pity? Do you feel sad for me? Do you feel angry at me? What is it? Is Dom not the better choice for you?"
"What? C'mon where did Dom come into this conversation now?"
"You are better with Dom Avaline." He stood up, coming closer to me. "You love him now don't you?"
"What about you? Do you love me anymore?"
He stared at me in a cruel manner and just said one word, "No."
A single drop of tear rolled down my eyes. "Really?"
"That's why stop chasing me. You can sleep in the bed tonight I will take the couch."
And he just started walking away. My watery eyes looked at his blurry image walking away and going into his room. I went and sat on the sofa, burying my face in the palm of my hands. Why did that hurt so much? Hadn't I started loving Dom? So why did it matter to me what Ace said?
The doorbell rang. Ace called out, "Can you check the door for me? It's the pizza guy I think."
I stood up and went to the door, opening it weakly. A women in her late thirties stood there dressed in a tiny top which spilled her boobs out and short pair of booty shorts. She looked at me confusedly and then pushed me slightly to try to get in. "Who are you?" She asked me snappily when I didn't let her in.
"Maybe you should try to tell me who you are."
She rolled her eyes. "Where is Ace?"
"Who are you?"
She sighed and muttered under her breath. "Such a fucking annoying bitch."
I smiled at her back. "Keep whispering to yourself because otherwise your breath stinks."
I was about to shut the door on her face but that's when Ace came out from behind me and asked the lady, "What are you doing here Melanie?"
Ace came towards us and looked me in the eye intensely before pushing me aside slightly and grabbing Melbitch's face and kissing her lips.
