As we came in front of the entrance of another expensive, posh hotel where the party was going to be, I gave a nervous look to Mark. But instead of looking anything but nervous, he confidently strided upto the guards, showed them some kind of card and they didn't even spare a second glance at me as we walked in.
I was glad that this party was a mask themed party. Even though the black lacy mask did anything but hide my identity, it still felt like a protective gear to go in this battlefield.
A while back Ace had asked me if I had find any way to get inside the event. I told him that I was going in with Mark and he sounded impressed. He told me he was one of the guests that were invited as he was in disguise of of some CEO of a big company.
He didn't tell me what he was going there to do but he told me to find him when I reached there. "I would be wearing an exquisite ruby ring. You would be able to recognise me with it."
As if I needed anything to recognise him.
The moment I went, soft piano music started filling my ears. People seemed to be spread everywhere, clad in suits and dresses with glasses of wine in their hands. Some were discussing their amongst themselves, some were slightly swaying their hips to the music in the main area. I just stared at them, wondering if they knew what the was actual purpose of this event?
While my eyes were looking around, I felt another pair of eyes burning hole into me. Turning around I saw Mark gulp, as he his eyes raved my body up and down. The dress I was wearing was evening fishtail black dress tightly wrapping my body and enhancing every curve of my body. It had a slit from the bottom till my hips, showcasing my long legs once in a while. I knew I looked gorgeous.
And it was pretty evident how he was feeling when he shifted uncomfortably the entire time while driving to come here.
I rose a brow. "Anything wrong?"
"I.." He looked away and his cheeks reddened. up. "I just don't like the way you look."
"What?" I asked, surprised.
"It's too revealing." He said in a concerned voice. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. "I don't like when other men look at you. Please ask me next time what to wear when you are going out with me."
This guy- We weren't even in any relationship or anything and he already thought he could tell me what to do? I swear, if only it wasn't for The Anonymous, I would have given him a whole speech how he can shut the fuck up.
I gave him a fake smile. "Sure."
He looked satisfied with my answer. Grabbing my hand, he led me to a more lightened part of this place. At first I was alarmed where he was taking me but then when the food area came forth, my heart beamed with happiness. "So while I wait for my dad to call, let's get some food."
I agreed and wasted no time to put a bunch of different cuising on my plate, filling it to the brim. Mark watched me with jaw open. Well, if I was indeed going for something dangerous tonight, might as well go with a full stomach.
"You eat so much." Mark snorted, looking a little disturbed by full plate.
I gave him a look. "And that's wrong? Didn't know eating quantity determined our personality quality."
He seemed offended. "Well certainly it's very unladylike to eat like this."
I would have thrown my plate at him but I didn't want to get killed by Ace and his gang for losing a potential information giver. So I took two little bites like a 'proper lady' and wiped my face, giving him a forced beam. "Happy?"
