18. 𝒃𝒐𝒚𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅

It was a normal day for Kita with his usual routine: waking up, making breakfast and lunch, working, lunch, working, break, working, leave to visit granny or grocery, going home, break, going out for a jog, coming back home, dinner, texting you (if he's lucky, calling you), sleep, repeat. May not sound fun to some, but it was fine with him. Well... almost. The only thing he wishes he had more of was interaction from you, but what could he do? You were working your butt off to reach your dreams and he liked that most about you. It made you even more beautiful aside from your appearance and if he were to keep you from doing so, he'd feel selfish.

While Kita is on his break, he is interrupted with a girly voice.

"Good morning, Kita-san!" Kita lifts up his head to see Klein Yui, his boss' daughter.

"Good morning, Klein-san," Kita politely greets and bows a bit.

"No need to be so formal, Kita-san!" Yui smiles sweetly but Kita just nods politely even though he won't listen. "How have you been recently, Kita-san?" Yui asks and skips towards Kita.

"I've been fine, and you?" Kita asks.

"You know, just school," Yui replies and kicks the air. Yui is still in college and is 3 years younger than Kita. Their conversation turns awkward--like usual--which makes Yui frown. 'No improvement of our relationship status; as usual,' Yui thinks to  herself and sighs until Kakeru comes in.

"Oh, you're here today, Yui?" Kakeru asks when he comes in.

"Yeah! I just decided to stop by before heading to class, Dad," Yui says as she walks towards Kakeru to give him a hug. Kita suddenly remembers that he needs to request a day off on the day of your concert in Hyogo.

"Klein-san, I had a question to ask," Kita says as Kakeru nods in acknowledgement. "Would I be able to take the 24th off?"

"Of course, Shinsuke-kun! You work too hard, but just curious, why? You never ask for days off," Kakeru asks.

"I'm going to be attending a concert," Kita honestly answers which causes Yui's eyes to widen.

"A-are you going to L/n F/n's concert?!" she excitedly asks. Kita responds with a simple nod. "I'm going as well!! I love her so much!" Kakeru smiles at his daughter's happy expression.

"You're both going to the same concert? I didn't think you'd be into going to concerts, Shinsuke-kun," Kakeru laughs which makes Kita blush a little bit.

"I really like her music," Kita plainly comments as Yui's eyes continue to gleam.

'This is my chance!' she thinks. "W-would you like to go together, Kita-san?" Yui manages to build the courage to ask. Kita's eyes widen then he sweats. He didn't want to reject her since she was his boss' daughter but he didn't want Yui to know that he was friends with you either. Before he could reject, Kakeru interrupts.

"That's a brilliant idea! You two should go with each other!" Kakeru happily decides for Kita.

"I don't thi--"

"Oh shoot! I have to get to class! I'll see you later, Dad! I'll see you some other time, Kita-san," Yui says while blushing before running off. Kita just frowns as she leaves.

'I'll have to tell her the next time I see her,' he thinks to himself. However, for the next few days, Yui doesn't come to visit which frustrates him.

"Shinsuke-kun," Kakeru calls out to Kita who's on his break.

"Yes?"

"Yui says she's sorry for not being able to talk to you about the upcoming concert, but she would like to meet you at the coffee shop near the place at noon--"
