Chris heaved a sigh of frustration as he signed the last paper work on his desk. He looked up to the antique clock hanging on his wall; 8:23pm!. He had promised Lara lunch but failed to keep his promise and for some reason he didn't bother calling because he was stuck in a meeting with his studio manager and his producer.Kcee popped his head into the office "You're supposed to be in Mrs. Ajayi's party".
"I know". He heaved a sigh and slouched slightly on his seat.
After what seemed like a minute, he stood quickly and grabbed his car keys.
Turning to Kcee "I should be going".
"Yeah you should and maybe take a break from all of this".
Chris nodded and walked past Kcee out of his office.
Chris had driven home into his garage and turned off the ignition. He rested his head on the steering wheel as events that led to his marriage played in his head. To every one present on their wedding, they were the perfect couple; lots of media personnels and paparazzi were present. Kcee had urged him to play cool in the wedding so as to win the hearts of people. He glanced at his wrist watch, he had less than 20 minutes to get to The Ajayis'. He groaned loudly and walked out of his car. Locking his car door, he strolled to the house.
"Took you long enough". A voice he could recognise anywhere said as he pushed the door open.
"Cecilia, what are you doing here?". Chris asked agitated.
"You don't look happy to see me". She said coolly standing from the couch.
He rolled his eyes "I don't have time for this, you should have called me"
She walked towards him "I wanted to surprise you". She trailed her hands through his face.
He pulled back his face and secured a good distance between them "Cecilia, I'm a married man now..."
"For a year, right?". She asked batting her eye lashes.
He let out a sigh"Yeah, look I have somewhere to be in 15".
She pouted "Can I come?".
He was getting agitated by the minute "Cecilia don't push this"."Do you love her?".
"What..Where's this question coming from?".
"It's a simple question Chris, Do you?".
He scoffed "Of course I don't, I love you more than anything".
She smiled widely and wrapped her arms around his neck "So, can I come?".

"Are you expecting a call?". Brenda asked in amusement as she watched Lara glance surreptitiously at her phone
"Yeap, from a client". Lara replied quickly and slipped her phone into her purse.
Brenda let out a chuckle and folded her arms "You know I know when you're lying right?".
Lara rolled her eyes "Kilode?, I said I'm expecting a call from my client".
"This must be a serious client"
Lara gave her a glare, and looked around the living room; no sign of him. He probably wanted to avoid seeing her but he should have the decency to honour her mum's invitation. The living room was filled with mostly people she had never met and few she recognised from both her dad's funeral and her wedding. She had noticed the room was void of paparazzi and crazy fans; Ty her mum's head bodyguard must be doing a great job.
"Is Chris coming?".
Lara let out a sigh and turned to Brenda "Auntie, I don't know".
Brenda smiled widely "Are you on your period?".
"Jesus!, Brenda stop with the questions already".
Brenda paused and looked over her friend's shoulder. "You won't believe this, don't look back"
"Ok...ay, what's the matter?".
Brenda gritted her teeth in annoyance still looking over Lara's shoulder "You can look now".
Lara turned quickly following Brenda's gaze, her mouth hanging low. She could feel her insides boiling in anger before she could stand from the sofa, Brenda clutched her hands.
"Calm down".
Hey guys.
Thanks for hanging on.
So what do you think she saw?
