It was the end of the first week of Eleanora's visit home with her boyfriend and two friends.
Her cousins were in love with James, Ben and Jack but they had taken a particular liking to James after the picked up on how happy he made their older cousin. They hardly left him alone. Poor James just wanted to spend some quality time with his girlfriend but Polo and his brothers were always up for a game with the blonde boy.
"Nora, James," Sofía called from the kitchen and the couple removed themselves from the sun lounger they were sharing and made their way to the kitchen.
"You're making dinner tonight." The older woman spoke and this wasn't a big deal to Eleanora at first because everyone had had a turn at making dinner since they had arrived.
"What are we making?" Eleanora inquired since everyone had been allocated a dish to make.
"Enchiladas." Eleanora's eyes widened in surprise as she realised how serious this was.
"Why does your face look like that?" James asked as he stood in the kitchen in just his swimming trunks and his sliders. Sofía laughed softly to herself as she went back out to the beach to sit with her husband.
"Como que?" The model tried to act innocent so as not to freak out her boyfriend but it seemed a little too late for that. she could see that he was nervous about the prospect of cooking for her very large family.
"You know what I'm talking about." He started to pace as he had absolutely no idea how to make enchiladas. The only Mexican food he knew how to make was fajitas and even then, it was always using a pre made spice mix from a packet.
"There's a tradition in the Montesinos family. In order to be truly accepted into the family, the boyfriend or girlfriend has to make enchiladas by themselves for the whole family. If it's good, you have their blessing." The brunette girl explained, scared for how her boyfriend was going to react to the news.
"By myself? Nora, I have no idea how to do this! Oh my gosh, I'm going to ruin everything and I'll never be able to marry you or-" James was in full panic mode. Eleanora had never seen him like this, not even before a major match so she knew that it was serious.
"Hey, calm down. Everything is going to be just fine," she walked through the kitchen and over to him. Eleanora wrapped her arms around his bare torso and looked up at him. It wasn't the right moment but she couldn't help but admire how attractive her boyfriend was.
"I get to help you because you're not Mexican. These are going to be the best enchiladas that they've ever tasted which means that one day, if you want to marry me, you can." She smiled and pecked his nose delicately, watching as a soft smile appeared on his face. The model found it adorable how worked up he got about wanting to impress her family. It was obvious that it was a big deal to him and she loved that.
"I do want to marry you. It doesn't have to be any time soon but one day, i'm going to put a ring on this finger," he held up Eleanora's ring finger and pressed a kiss to it.
"And I'll make you Mrs Maddison." The couple had never spoken about marriage or kids before, wanting their relationship to take its own course but Eleanora felt ecstatic about the fact that James wanted to marry her one day. She felt truly enamoured by him and she couldn't wait until the day where he officially proposes to her.
"Can you hear that?" James silenced his girlfriend and listened closely. The two of them could hear the hushed whispers and the sound of kissing coming from the living room.
"Who do you think it is?" The model questioned, wondering if perhaps her best friend had found romance with Ben or Jack. She wouldn't mind if it was either one because they were both lovely boys and she knew that they would make her happy.
"Come on." The blonde boy grabbed his girlfriend's hand and they tiptoed towards the living room, trying to get a glimpse of who it could be.
"Oh, maybe we shouldn't intrude." When James peeked in, what he saw was not what he was expecting and he knew that his girlfriend wouldn't like it one bit.
"That's not fair that you get a look and I don't." James tried to hold his girlfriend back but she pushed past him and stumbled into the living room where she saw something that she wished that she hadn't.
"Joder." Eleanora let out as she looked on to the scene in front of her. she was speechless. Her little brother and her best friend were half naked and making out on the couch.
"Nora, it's not what it looks like!" María tried to explain as she pulled her beach cover up back on but Raúl simply shook his head at her. They were screwed and there was no going back now.
"How long?" Eleanora asked, her voice quiet. She wasn't mad that they were together. How could she be? If they made each other happy, who was she to get in the way of that?
"Six months." Raúl muttered and that's what tipped eleanora over the edge. She was angry and hurt because they felt like they couldn't tell her. Was she really that bad?
"And you didn't tell me? Wow guys. I thought we were closer than that." The model left the living room in a hurry, James following closely behind.
"Come on, we need to buy ingredients for the enchiladas." James knew that there was no point in trying to talk to Eleanora about what had happened. She was still too hurt to even think about it and wanted a distraction. James knew that when she was ready, she would talk about it with him.

a/n: a little bit more drama in nora's life! poor girl is struggling to catch a break here but she has james by her side.
i'm currently watching australian love island (i'm very bored, don't judge me) and i have to say, grant was trash from the start. he was so manipulative and made both girls feel awful. obviously i know what happened because i saw clips at the time. to all my lovely readers, please don't ever let yourself end up with a guy or girl who treats you like how grant treated cassidy and tayla. you are all worth so much more than that.
what are your thoughts on love island? - it's trash tv but it's very oddly addicting? i've never watched a full series because my parents are very anti love island lol and it's way too much of a commitment. if i fall behind, i'm never getting back on top.
