Eleanora barely spoke a word to her boyfriend as she helped him make the enchiladas for her family and now, the atmosphere at the dinner table was tense as a result of what had happened earlier.

"Can you pass me the water please, Nora?" María asked her best friend, afraid of how she would react. María was sitting on one side of Eleanora, James sitting on the other. Raúl was sitting next to his girlfriend and everyone else was scattered around the large table.

"I can but can you trust me to do that?" Eleanora challenged and everyone suddenly stopped eating to pay attention to the drama that was about to unfold in front of them all.

"What's happening?" Ben whispered across the table to his best friend, Jack also listening in to find out all the gossip.

"María and Raúl are sleeping together and have been for the past six months!" Eleanora burst out and the lack of reaction from her family members told her exactly what she needed to know.

"You all knew," she whispered, her cutlery clattering onto her plate as her two footballer friends gave her a sympathetic smile from across the table.

"Perdóname." Eleanora's chair screeched across the tiled floor as she left the table in a hurry. She had found out that her best friend was in a relationship after six months. It didn't matter to Eleanora that it was with her brother because their happiness would always come first to her but it was the fact that she was the last to find out and even then, María still hadn't told her. Eleanora had to walk in on them to find out.

As soon as Eleanora left the table, the mood at the table turned sour and James tried to follow her.

"Gracias, you did well," Javier informed who he hoped would be his future son-in-law and if the night hadn't been filled with so much drama already, James would've felt over the moon but his main priority at the moment was his girlfriend.

"Buena suerte." The man spoke once again and the blonde boy gave him a thankful smile.

James knew that Eleanora had headed to the house that they were staying in instead of hanging around the place where her whole family was.

Eleanora was hurting. The two girls had made an oath to each other when they were young that they would always tell the other one everything. It meant no secrets between the girls who were like sisters and María broke that oath. The model didn't like knowing that her best friend felt like she couldn't trust her.

"Nora," James' voice was quiet as he approached his girlfriend who was sitting with her feet hanging in the pool.

"I'm sorry. I ruined a night that was supposed to be yours." The Mexican girl let out a long sigh as she rested her head on his chest and felt his arm wrap around her shoulder in order to hold her close to him.

"You didn't. Your dad told me that he approves of me so one day, you can expect me to get down on one knee and put a ring on this finger and make you Mrs Maddison." The smile that appeared on Eleanora's face was enough to tell James that he was doing a good job of cheering her up. Her smile was his favourite smile in the entire world and every time that he saw it, his heart fluttered in his chest.
