Hey man, I didn't come here from such a long way
To hear someone say 'travel is banned so please stay'
Stay? No, I'd rather you stay away
I have suffered through many prolonged work days
But a prolonged vacation? Since when was that a valid case?
And you want me to pay, you say that leave I may
But then the borders are sealed so I need a place to stay
I'm getting robbed in front of my face
A vacation that's forced now I'm so dazed
Okay fine what's for entertainment? 'Stay in your place'
Excuse me, did you just say that to my face?
The sacrifices made to slow COVID's race
I thought about what they said, laid down on the plush bed
Guess it was either quarantine or be dead
As the wi-fi router blinked in red, I realized
That there was no reason to scream
I got what I would want at home, plus ice cream
Perhaps it may not be so bad a vacation after all, but still
Never thought repose could be imposed, even in my wildest dreams.
