I walked down the steps toward the back sun room when Evalyse looked up from her morning tea.

She put down the paper and grinned back at me.

“What do you have to say?”

“Tomorrow a few hundred people will be in my home to die, you think I am happy right now.”

“Then get on your private jet and leave.” I said back to her.

“I have stood next to you during so much but this Cali. I don’t know what to say to you.”

“I have to finish this and stand a message to the hunters. We are not a threat.”

“But sending that message, you are creating a threat.”

“Then kill me, send that message.”

Evalyse got up and looked back at me, “All of these years on this world and I have to watch my daughter burn it.”

I glared back at her as she left the room.

Rosalie sat on the top of the house looking down at the grounds around us as I walked out to her.

“A few years ago we did what we wanted and now we are inviting hunters into our home to kill them.” Rosalie glared back at me.

“I have the getaway all figured out.” I looked back at her.

“That is so amazing that you have that planned out. Do you have a plan on how to kill them?” I said back to her.

“Listen it will be a masquerade ball, no one is gonna know who you are.”

“You are putting the candles up so you can hide our scents.”

                I glanced back at her.

“What is the real plan Cali?”

I went over to Rosalie and bent down looking at the others walking out of the house. “After this weekend, we will no longer exist. We will be dead after this weekend.”

Rosalie dropped her head, “That is for sure gonna be something they will all be talking about.”

                “That is the point Rosalie.”

Gen crossed her arms as Jared looked over at Jensen. “Are you feeling ok?”

“I don’t know yet.” Jensen rubbed his neck when the car was brought up to them.

“I have missed this so much.” Jared said getting into the driver’s seat.

                Jensen looked back at him.

Jared looked over at him, “What?”

“Did you use to live here or something?”

Gen cracked a smile from the back seat.

“I used to live here.” Jared said as he pulled out of the driveway.

“I know you said that you and Cali use to hook up, but how long did that last?”

                “Dude, I'm married.”

“And I'm in the car with you both.” Gen blurted out.

Jared looked back at her then back at Jensen, “I don’t wanna talk about that anymore Jensen.”

“Did you have feelings for her?”

                Gen glared back at Jensen.

Jensen smiled back at Jared, “I'm serious tell me bro.”

Jared glared over at him, “No, I didn’t love her. We just hooked up.”

Jensen nodded his head back at him, “Good.”

Gen narrowed her eyes as they left the grounds of the compound.

Back at the house, I sat on the edge of the roof when Juliette walked out to me.

“You loved being up here when I was little.” Juliette looked back at me.

“I don’t want you at the party.” I said back to her.

“What, why, what are you saying?”

“The party, I don’t want you there. I don’t need you there with what is gonna happen.”

“Cali, I am not backing away from this.”

“I'm not asking you, I'm telling you to back the fuck away from this party. I won't have to worry about Jared and you.”

“Worry about my brother, why about my brother?”

I glanced back at her, “We may have hooked up a few times back when we were younger but I grew up loving that boy like family.”

Juliette shook her head, “That sounded bad.”

I laughed back at her, “It does but you know what I mean.”

Juliette nodded her head, “I know you love him but not in that love that you wanna start that relationship with him.”

I turned back to her, “And no matter what happens Juliette, I need you to know that I tried.”

Juliette narrowed her eyes back at me as I went over to the door and vanished from the roof.

In town, Jared went along picking up some things when Jensen walked along the street when Gen walked over to him.

He glanced down at her, “What do you wanna talk about?”

“You really jumped on Jared back in the car.”

“I know I did and I'm sorry about that.”

Gen smiled back at him, “You love her.”

“I just really care about her.”

Gen smiled back at him, “She is bonded to you Jensen, and there is no going back now.”

Jensen looked over at her as Jared walked over to them eating a donut.
