6. Watch Me Explode

I sat at the table with Gen going over the list of everything she should have and things she needs to get done.

Juliette sat next to me sipping on whiskey while Jared and Jensen had left for a training thing or something.

I glanced back at her, "Are you sure you still wanna do this trip?"

"Two weeks away from reality and everything else, yea I wanna do this."

I nodded my head back at her, "Now we go down there, there won't be a chance for phone calls or anything. This trip is a little different."

Gen shifted in her seat, "What do you mean?"

"Normally I go to uncover the sweet spots that no one has found but this time I'm going on a little discovery mission."

Juliette looked at me. "What do you mean by that?"

"I mean that we will be living in the Amazon for 2 weeks without running water or shelter. I mean we will risk every day with big cats and snakes. Our lives are not gonna be fluffy little lives like now, we are really gonna be stepping into it once we get there."

"So this is a soul searching thing for you?" Gen looked back at me.

"Yea, it really is, I thought it would be good for the show and for myself. I mean there is a really poor town we will be staying at for like 3 days but after that we are in the jungle."

Gen looked back at Juliette, "I can't pass this up."

Juliette nodded her head, "After today I think I need this trip."

I grinned back at her, "Juliette, everything will be ok."

Juliette grinned back at me, "I hope so."

I spent a little more time going over the plans as we would leave right after the funeral in Austin for the south.

I then packed everything up and went back to my hotel.

I sat on the floor looking out the window.

Something wasn't right with Derek just being killed like that for no reason.

I mean why someone like Derek would be murdered in such a manner that wouldn't have people looking at it differently.

I glanced over my shoulder when someone was knocking at my door.

I slowly got up and just looked at the door.

"Oh Lord Cali, it's me!"

I finally moved forward as I unlocked the door for Rosalie, "What are you doing here?"

"I had to come and tell you this."

"Rosalie, Mom called me and said to back away from this."

"Did you know that Derek's brother is part of the resistance?"

"Derek has a brother?"

"Same question I had when I called around, but Derek's brother was in Austin at the time. The League went after his brother thinking that Derek could have been killed by his brother. That Derek wanted his brother to stop with the bullshit and look at the bigger picture. That maybe Derek was trying to help his brother and his brother freaked out."
