Taehyun's eyes slowly fluttered open, but quickly buried his head back into his fiancè's chest due to the strong sunlight. The said boy felt the grumble of his lover's chest as he chuckled.
"Good morning, beautiful." Beomgyu said, running his hand through the youngers red hair, earning a satisfied whine.
"Morning. How long have you been up?" Taehyun asked, voice muffled.
"A few minutes, I was just appreciating your beauty, and you looked so peaceful I didn't want to wake you up just yet." The red head just hummed, still snuggling in Beomgyu's arms and inhaling his scent.
Taehyun looked up at Beomgyu and he looked the younger with a confused expression.
"Happy five years, baby." Taehyun said and kissed Beomgyu which was filled with so much love. Beomgyu beamed- he wanted to say it first, but the younger beat him to it. Time flies super quickly, and the two of them were already in their 5th year of their relationship ever since the younger got to know that the older was his soulmate.
"Go and get ready, I'll make breakfast for the both of us. I have plans for us today." Taehyun said, quickly getting up to wash himself up before heading to the kitchen to cook their breakfast.
Taehyun originally wanted to go for a breakfast in bed concept, but he knew he couldn't wake up early so he quickly scratch the idea off his list. Instead, he decided to make it as usual but made the food look a lot special this time round.
He decided to make toast with a heart shaped egg in the middle with some bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages that's also cut up into hearts and a warm cup of milk.
Beomgyu then stumbled into the kitchen, with his silver hair still damp. He widened his eyes, looking at the breakfast platter.
"Aw, love you didn't have to do this you know?" Beomgyu whispered, resting his chin on the younger's shoulders as he back hugged him. Giving a side peck on the cheek, the younger instructed the older to go and sit down as he served the food.
The two settled down, and started eating in comfortable silence.
"Do you remember how we got together?" Taehyun asked the silver haired boy, and he flushed red, remembering how it happened like it was just yesterday.
"My dear cousin, you're finally 18 and have your soulmate tattoo! When did you grow up so fast?" Soobin said, wiping a fake tear and earning a snicker from his younger cousin. "Did you see who is it yet?"
Beomgyu shook his head. In actual fact, he was terrified to see who it was. He had been waiting for this moment to come but now that it's here, he can't seem to stop panicking internally.
"Hey it's okay. Do you wanna let me see it first?" Soobin asked, and the boy nodded, not trusting his voice anymore. Soobin carefully held up Beomgyu's right wrist and lifted up his sleeve, eyes going wide and a gasp leaving his lips.
"Oh my god. It's a beautiful tattoo." Beomgyu sighed in relief hearing his cousin say that. Beomgyu knew that it was a flower called poppy, and Soobin probably has never seen a more intricate design like that before. Upon seeing the name whom his cousin belongs to for eternity (wink wink), he let an idiotic smile slip. He had somehow knew that it was going to be this person.
"Why are you giving that creepy smile? Who is it? You know I couldn't sleep thinking about it when I first saw the surname?" Beomgyu said quickly.
"Look at it for yourself. I actually ship the two of you together. You both make a great pair." Soobin comments, slowly letting go of his cousin's wrist. Beomgyu's breath hitched, staring a the name inked on his wrist.
Kang Taehyun.
The very much same boy that he was slowly catching feelings for.
"What happens now?" Beomgyu asked warily.
"Either you tell him or you don't. Once he rubs your tattoo, your flower will bloom and his will still continue to develop until he turns 18. So, it's your call. He'll eventually know if you hide it you know?" Soobin answers, patting his cousin's back.
The next day at school, the three boys threw out the exact same question.
"Uhm, sorry can I pull him aside for a bit?" Beomgyu asked, pointing at Taehyun, and the rest giving him the green light, although they didn't understand what was going on.
Beomgyu eventually dragged Taehyun up to the roof without him even realising, but Taehyun only followed, not questioning anything just yet. Once they settled down, Beomgyu let out a sigh.
"Why did you suddenly drag me here hyung?" Taehyun inquired, breaking the silence. Beomgyu slowly lifted his sleeve up, showing his tattoo to the younger. The red head fell silent, speechless.
Without any warning, the younger grabbed his wrist and started rubbing it gently, watching the flowers bloom so beautifully. "Say something, please."
"You know, I've always liked you ever since before this. After I saw the tattoo, it grew stronger and I can't help but think that I love you. I don't have much, but I hope you're okay with me being your soulmate. Be mine?"
Smiling fondly, the younger kissed him, catching him off guard but he melted into the kiss nonetheless. The taste of cherry lip balm drove Beomgyu crazy and the younger just had to fuel that by swinging his arms around his neck, softly tugging on his hair. The two pulled away after, foreheads against each other's, content and happy that their hearts are now beating for one another for life.
"I love you."
"Love, don't need to be so shy now hm? It was cute okay? And truth be told, I had a crush on you too." Taehyun calmly said, causing Beomgyu to choke on his food.
"You what?!"
"Yeah, just like you did, I already had a small crush on you. Turns out we're soulmates, so what's the use of dwelling over that now?" Taehyun said, winking and the older groaned.
"You're gonna be the death of me, Taehyun."
"You love me though."
"Damn right I do."
