Eternal

Over centuries the immortal beings have evolved to have lifestyles almost exactly like average humans. Other than the fact that they have an endless lifespan, never have the need to sleep, and unsheathe two extremely sharp teeth when hungry. Vampires have become like normal humans, being able to live like a human and do everything a human does without ever having to drink blood or even crave it. Unless one thing happens.

All vampires have one human they love more than anyone else, a person they were put on this world to find, their purpose.

If they smell blood coming from the neck of their loved one, on a night where a full moon is present, when all vampires instincts are amplified, they will lose control, and they will need to drink the blood of said loved one.

Now, I mean cmon, the odds of their one lover bleeding specifically from the neck around them at night time when a full moon is out is extremely rare, which is why most vampires can live a normal human life for as long as they'd like. When a human is bitten by a vampire though, one of two things will happen:

1. If only a small amount of blood is sucked, the human stays unaffected, but they will die as soon as they stop bleeding.
2. If a lot of blood is drawn, the human turns into a vampire and becomes immortal, just like their lover.

When a vampire turns their loved one into a vampire, their souls become one. But if a vampire refuses to drink their lovers blood, the vampire will die instead.

And you're probably asking, why do they not want to turn their lovers into vampires? Then they can be together forever, it seems simple. Well it isn't that easy, you see, once their lover is turned into a vampire they require the host vampires blood to live. If they were to not get the host vampires blood when in need they become injured, and they grow weaker and weaker, more and more hurt with the lack of blood sucking, until they die. And if the vampires were to have a child, (lets pretend malexmale or femalexfemale vampire couples can have children in this oneshot lol cause idk how to make it make sense) the child would be a pureblood vampire and wouldn't experience the pain of the lover, but having the child takes immense power from the lover, and as the child grows the lovers power will grow weaker and weaker, eventually killing the lover.

On the other hand, if the lover were to never be turned into a vampire they will not suffer pain. And if the human and vampire were to have a child the child would have a 50/50 chance of being a pureblood vampire. All of which give vampires reason to not want to make their lovers beings like them.

Byakuya's POV

"Beware, the full moon will rise amongst us this night. Be cautious, and with your best efforts, even though it may bring a challenge, I recommend keeping distance from your loved ones." Gundham looks around the room as we all nod.

A vampire meeting. We have one every month, the day before a full moon. Humans don't know we are vampires though, they just think all the schools elites are a part of a weird club or something. We discuss everything to do with our vampire lives and give each other strength to face the night ahead. We know it is extremely rare for anything bad to happen during nights like these, but we are still afraid and do not want to risk anything.

"WHAT?! OH HELL NO! It's valentines day! How can we not spend it with our lovers? Peko deserves a good valentines day!" Fuyuhiko grits his teeth as his voice fills the room.

"I agree with Fuyuhiko. Hajime would be quite mad at me for abandoning our plans." Nagito stands up and looks at Gundham angrily.

"Yes it is the day of St. Valentine indeed, do you not presume that I would also rather spend my time with my dark paramour Kazuichi? But we mustn't risk anything, you can pass the daytime hours with your lover but not the nighttime hours."
