Byakuya's POV

Today... is me And Makotos fifth anniversary...

Today also happens to be the day that... I do it.

It's been two years since we graduated Hope's Peak Academy and five years, of course, since I asked him to be my boyfriend that Friday night during our second year at Hope's Peak. And I think it is finally time.

No one makes me happier than that short, cheerful, too good for this world, adorable boy. And I want to spend forever with him.

(It is very late and I am more sentimental than usual so yes I am hitting you with the SAP all the way from the get go, you're welcome.)

"Are you ready to go, Makoto?" I say as I finish putting on my suit jacket and adjust my watch on my wrist. I turn to see Makoto finishing buttoning up his polo and walking towards me with a smile.

"Yes, Kuya. Lets go." We both reach for our coats and scarves and head towards the door of our bedroom. I take Makotos hand and start to walk to the first floor of our mansion. And I notice once we get to the first floor that Makoto starts to head to the garage, but I pull him towards the front door instead.

"Byakuya? What are you doing? The garage is that way." I look down at my boyfriend with an amused smile as he looks up at me with a confused face.

"We don't need to go to the garage, we are walking out the front entrance."

"But why? Our cars are in the garage."

"Is it not obvious? We aren't taking a car, we are walking." At that Makotos face seemed even more confused but I couldn't say anything more for fear of saying too much. Instead, I just kept walking, pulling Makoto along with me out the front door.

As we walked further towards our destination I tried to keep Makoto distracted with casual discussions, so that he didn't question where we were going. But eventually, the curiosity got the best of him.

"Oh hey, I was wondering Kuya. Where exactly are we going?" As we were walking Makoto adapted the usual skip in his step that he always has when he's happy, but he paused it for a bit to ask the more serious question he just asked.

"You will find out once we get there, Mako." And in response to my statement I got a frustrated pout and puppy eyes.

"But Kuya! Shouldn't I know what we have planned for our date on our own anniversary?! These kinds of dates are collaborative efforts y'know." Makoto then let go of my hand in order to cross his own arms like a toddler who's having a tantrum.

"Fine. Do you want to get hot chocolate and brownies later on in the date?" Makotos eyes sparkled as soon as I said the word 'chocolate'.

"Yes!"

"Okay then. That was your addition to the date plan, good job." Makoto furrowed his eyebrows for a second but eventually he uncrossed his arms, took my hand again, and began his skipping once more.

When we got to the train station Makoto was very confused, but I managed not to reveal anything too important and eventually we were on the train. After a bit Makoto fell asleep on my shoulder, and we calmly listened to music through shared earbuds as we waited to arrive at our destination.

Once we exited the train I waited for Makoto to say something about where we were.

"Are we going to Hopes Peak? Why are we back in town?"

"It's just been a while since we've been here, is all." Makoto nodded and took my hand again as we began walking to the town we both knew all too well.
