The journey back to the gym was silent, we were both processing what the hell had just happened. The feeling of his lips on mine is something I crave, the way they move against mine and the feeling of his arms around my wai-
"Are you coming?"
I didn't notice the elevator doors open and was awkwardly standing alone.
"Whoops, yeah. I'm right behind you,"
We entered our private area again as he set the small box on the floor. The main gym is always filled with those men who think working out is their entire existence. There's a long hallway with private training rooms and we kind of stole one and moved all the equipment out so there would be enough room. One time I accidentally tripped into a barbell and it would've fallen on me if Bucky hadn't caught it.
He handed me a small plastic knife and kicked the box away.
"The first important thing is grip,"
I grabbed my knees and attempted to catch my breath. When he said he was an expert he wasn't kidding. That man had me on my toes constantly. I managed to give him a smile as I threw the knife at him to put away.
"Do you want to stick to it or go back to hand-to-hand?"
"I'll stick with it, it'll just take me a while,"
He closed the box and ran a hand through his long hair. A few weeks ago he had trimmed it so it was just under his jaw. His face had a bit of stubble on it and I used to think I wanted someone with a clean face but this made me think again.
"Hey so," He spoke up and got closer to me, "I was wondering if you wanted to meet up for dinner tonight,"
"Like a date?" I met his gaze, "Bucky Barnes, are you asking me out?"
"Maybe," He smiled and looked down trying to hide his happiness.
"Where and when?"
"How about that fancy pasta place downtown at six?"
"Sounds good!"
I grabbed my water bottle and followed him back to the rooms. This time people kept stopping the elevator to board so we ended up squished next to either. I mean I wasn't complaining, who would be? His hand was so close to mine, he got me constantly thinking he was going to grab it. I wonder what it'd be like to hold his hand...
Without a second thought, he laced his fingers through mine and softly smiled. The elevator ride felt like ages, but before we knew it we arrived on my floor. I squeezed his hand gently and let go.
"See you at six," I whispered and kissed his cheek before grabbing my room key and leaving.
I looked outside my window. My hair was still dripping from my shower as I contemplated going out to buy a new fancy dress. Shopping is practically free so why not? My eyes scanned the bustling streets before deciding on my target.
After blow-drying my hair and putting on some skinny jeans and a FC hoodie, I exited the apartment complex and shoved my hands into my pocket. It's a nice breezy day, enough to tussle my hair around but not violently attack my face. The door chimed when I opened it and I was welcomed by a few girls with matching store outfits. Except one jogged my memory...
"Oh my god, Olivia?" I gasped as we made eye contact.
Her brown eyes widened with realization and she immediately dashed over to hug me.
"YN! It's been too long,"
"Hey this is my friend Olivia, we met in seminar," I smiled and introduced my new friend to Briza.
"Hey! I'm Briza,"
The two shook hands and I could tell Olivia would easily fit into our friend group. Things went well, we all went to dances as a trio, did crackhead stuff, and it was chill until Olivia had to move.
We haven't been quite the same since she moved. She rarely facetimes with us since she's that cute popular girl, but she's active in our group chat.
"So, you're dead too?" I laughed as we parted.
"Yeah, surprisingly being dead is pretty chill,"
"Right?"
"You're looking for a fancy dress I see?" She raises an eyebrow and smirks, "What's the occasion?"
"So I have a date with this hot guy I know-"
"Yess! Finally, after all those texts of you being single and crying every day you finally have a mans!"
"Okay, first, shut up I wasn't crying, and second, I miss you so much we need to hang out,"
"Agreed! But first, let's make you look hot,"
I laughed and followed Olivia to the dressing room, "Bet,"
The first few options were decent, but not really me. We cycled through the main dresses and set a few aside as future choices to buy, but never really found one I was certain of.
"YN I found the perfect dinner date dress!" Olivia exclaimed and handed me a red dress.
The dress rested halfway down my thighs and was a low cut, not enough to show cleavage which I was grateful for. Olivia handed me some black stilettos and a necklace with white beads that went down to my chest. I found a stray black belt and decided to wrap it around my waist. I pulled open the white curtain and revealed myself to Olivia.
"Once you get your hair and makeup done, you're all set!" She beamed, "It looks really good on you,"
"I haven't dressed for a date in years oh gosh," I laughed and twirled around.
"I never asked, but who's the lucky guy?"
"Bucky. Bucky Barnes,"
