"chapter 9- start the party"

"okay guys remember, when he gets here act cool." tess ordered the girls.

"when who gets here?" mitchie questioned taking a seat beside them on the floor.

"shane." ella answered.

"wait he's teaching this class, i thought it was summer." mitchie gushed & all the girls nodded confirming it.

"it's both of them." tess snarled.

"great." mitchie added.

"wait, is that flour in your hair?" ella asked, looking closely at mitchie's hair.

"no, no it's chinese body powder. pretty cool huh?" mitchie acted before turning away to attempt to get the flour out of her hair.

then the door swung open and in walked shane & summer both looking equally pissed off.

"grab a mic & a hat." shane ordered.

"follow us if you can." summer barked.

"hurry, let's go." shane yelled as everyone ran as fast as they can.

"across the floor." summer demanded as start the party began to play.

they all followed shane & summers lead.

"everyone circle facing front." summer said.

then a boy suddenly fell as the music came to and end.

"talk about dancing to the beat of a different drum." tess teased.

"you any good on the drums?" shane questioned, and the boy pulled his sticks out of his pocket and began to play.

"man you're a drummer dude." shane said helping the boy up.

"the drummer controls the beat, the rhythm is in your hands." summer exclaimed.

"yeah, i guess." the boy replied.

"now we just have to work on getting that beat from those sticks to those feet." shane said patting the kid on the back as the class ended.

"where were you this morning ?" tess asked mitchie as they grabbed drinks in the dining hall.

"yeah where were you?" summer added.

"hey girls." the kitchen lady said approaching them.

"uh hey." tess said rudely.

"hey." summer said softly as she sat down at the table.

"well i just wanted to meet mitchies new friends." the kitchen lady exclaimed leaving all the girls confused.

"this is summer, ella, peggy, & tess." mitchie said introducing the girls as they shook the woman's hand.

"okay do you know her?" summer asked confused.

"yeah, don't you?" mitchie questioned.

"she's cooked for everyone from jessica & nick pre breakup to pharrell." mitchie added.

"really ?" ella asked surprised.

"yeah, i'm shocked the camp even got her." mitchie exaggerated.

"you mean, jessica age these eggs?" ella gushed.

"yeah." mitchie replied softly.

"i'm gonna go find nate, don't have any fun without me." summer said getting up from the table and leaving the dining hall.

summer walked up to the cabin that nate shared with his brothers to find only shane gray sitting their strumming his guitar.

"that's cool, it's like your old stuff" summer said as she sat next to shane.

"yeah, i was thinking the group could change up our sound. do some different stuff." shane smiled.

"so have you seen nate?" summer asked.

"no, not since this morning." shane answered.

"oh okay." summer sighed.

"you really like him, don't you?" shane asked & summer nodded.

"yeah i do." summer smiled.

"it's honestly kind of rude considering the fact i was pining after you in the second grade summer. i mean what do you see in him that you don't see in me." shane joked & summer laughed.

"sometimes you can't explain what you see in a person, it's just the way they take you to a place where no one else can." summer sighed.

"i'm really happy for you guys. you deserve happiness summer, even if you don't always believe it. trust me you do." shane assured her.
