Episode 29: Conditions

Karma's POV

I stood there, staring at Amy. I grabbed her hand. At that moment someone entered.

Nurse:"You aren't supposed to be here"

Karma:"I am sorry but, she is my girlfriend and I just wanted to see if she was okay"

She waited a minute.

Nurse:"Fine, stay 3 more minutes but then you have to leave"

I nodded. She left us alone.

Karma:"So they say people in a coma can hear what you say, I just want to say that I have feelings for you no one has ever felt for someone"

A tear drop slid down my cheek.

Karma:"And I know I've made a lot of mistakes, but I am just a teenage girl who is madly in love with the most beautiful girl in the world, you make my day brighter and my life better"

I held her hand more firmly.

Karma:"So when you wake up, I'll be here and I will love you and help you through everything life has got for us"

I kissed her cheek. The rest of the minutes I had left I just looked at her. She was a bit paler than usual but still beautiful. I left the room after a minute and sat back down. Lauren looked at me.

Lauren:"What did you do? How is she?"

Karma:"I talked to her, she isn't doing very well"

Lauren:"Wait you talked to her, is she awake?"

Karma:"No I did all the talking, she just listened, I hope"

Lauren:"What did you say?"

Karma:"Something I should ve said a long time ago"

At that moment Liam and Shane came back with coffee. Liam looked at me.

Liam:"I brought you some coffee"

He handed it over.

Karma:"Thanks"

Shane looked at me, in some weird way.

Shane:"So Karma do you know why Amy ran away?"

Karma:"Uhm no, I have no idea"

Shane:"So it wasn't because of you're kiss?"

He looked at me quite angrily.

Karma:"I guess"

Shane:"You two are assholes"

Karma:"It's not like that"

Shane:"Why are you doing this to her, and you, you told me you would leave her alone"

He looked at Liam now.

Liam:"It's just-"

Shane:"You couldn't keep your pants zipped"

Liam:"We didn't sleep together we just kissed"

Shane:"That's all it takes to break someone's heart"

Liam and I kept quite during Shane's rage. He stopped and looked at me.

Shane:"It's you don't love her, tell her because Reagan does love her"

I kept quite.

Karma:"I do love her, I was just thrown off by the kiss"

Shane:"That's always your excuse, are you sure, don't go play with Amy's feelings"

Karma:"I am not playing with her feelings"

Shane:"Maybe you don't see it that way"

Karma:"Do you?"

Lauren:"Stop it, we are here for Amy, stop the fighting"

I kept my mouth shut and drank my coffee. A nurse went into Amy's room. I waited a long time before she came out.

Nurse:"Lauren Cooper?"

Lauren:"Yes?"

Nurse:"We have to ask you some questions about your sister"

Lauren:"I think it's better if Karma does that, she knows her better"

The nurse nodded and told me to go inside.

Nurse:"Does your friend have any medical conditions we should know of?"

I shook my head.

Nurse:"Your friend isn't doing very well, we think she has some kind of heart condition, our doctors are doing their best to find out what it is"

Karma:"What if they don't?'

Nurse:"Then she'll live another year but not much longer"

I felt the tears rushing down my cheek.

Nurse:"We think she'll wake up tomorrow if the treatment she's on works but we aren't sure"

Karma:"But how can they treat something if they don't know what?"

Nurse:"They ran some tests and they might have an idea what it is but they're not sure"

Karma:"If she'll die, will I be able to say goodbye?"

Nurse:"We can put her on bypass, but I don't think that'll be necessary"

Karma:"Thank you"

I walked out of the room and sat back down. They were talking to me but I only heard distant voices, I couldn't stop thinking about Amy.
