Episode 39: Sisterly

Karma's POV

I was looking up. Amy grabbed my hand. I looked up at her.

Amy:"What are you thinking of?"

Karma:"I don't know, something, everything, you"

I smiled at her.

Amy:"You better be thinking about me"

She smirked at me.

Amy:"I am gonna go talk to Lauren, is that okay?"

Karma:"Sure but you'll need to make up for the time you're not here"

I smiled at her.

Amy:"And how can I do that?"

Karma:"I don't know we'll figure something out"

I winked at her. She gave me a quick peck and left. I grabbed my phone and saw a message from, of course Liam.

Liam: Karma, it was never my intention to hit you, I was just pissed at Shane because he said I should leave you alone, but I couldn't, I still can't. I love you Karma, I've never loved someone like you, someone who is so down to earth.  I know you probably hate me and so does Amy, but I am sorry, for being an ass"

I had to smile, because he sounded quite sincere. I saw he was online. I wanted to write something but I didn't know what. After some twirling my fingers above my screen I wrote: It's okay. He was typing.

Liam:"Come on Ashcroft can't I get more than that?"

Karma:"No, I've said enough"

Liam:"You're still mad, I see it'

Karma:"I don't want to talk, that's all"

Liam:"Okay, I'll leave you, but I still love you"

I didn't reply. It didn't feel right to answer. I got up to get some water. I saw Amy talking to Lauren in the living room. As much as it felt bad I listened to them.

Lauren:"I don't know, he texted me but he doesn't know about it yet'

Amy:"Don't tell me you are gonna go see him?"

Lauren:"He explained to me he wanted to take me to his mom, to go meet her"

Amy:"I don't know Lauren"

Lauren:"But how should I tell him?"

Amy:"I don't know, isn't it too quick to tell him?"

Lauren:"I don't want to live a lie anymore"

She started crying and Amy hugged her.

Amy:"It's not something bad, you are just thinking of it in the wrong way"

Lauren:"I was born with XY-chromosomes, that scares off someone quickly"

I gasped a bit too loud, they both looked my way.

Lauren:"Karma?"

Karma:"Uhm, hey sorry my Uhm ring fell on the ground"

I kneeled and pretended to pick up something. I got back up and Lauren was still looking at me.

Lauren:"You heard it didn't you?"

I nodded.

Lauren:"And now you think I am a freak"

She wanted to get up but I walked towards her.

Karma:"Lauren, it's not weird okay, I know what it is, my cousin is also intersex"

Lauren:"Really?"

I nodded.

Karma:"Don't worry, I still think of you as the Lauren who helped me but also sometimes makes me wanna scratch out my eyeballs"

I smiled at her.

Lauren:"Thanks"

Karma:"I am here for you, although you don't like me"

Lauren:"I do like you"

She hugged me, it felt sisterly and she wasn't even my sister.
