I skipped along the stairs letting my long curly hair flow behind me. My neon leggings contrasted with my sky blue leotard. I didn't start work until a little over a hour but I got here earlier to mess with my two favorite employees.

After Steve and I broken up my heart was so tattered I didn't think I could ever talk to him again. Over time any dislike I had for him thawed out. I couldn't let a breakup ruin an amazing friendship, and maybe I still have feelings for him. Though it stills bothers me how he acts like he doesn't know what happened.

I made my way to scoops ahoy only to see a familiar curly head boy. "Dustin?"

"Henderson!" Steve burst through the back. The toothless boy grinned bouncing on his toes. "He's back! Your back!"

I smiled jogging to my little friend. "Y'all got the job!" Dustin said full of excitement.

"We got the job!" I laughed pulling him into my arms. Steve pulled him back to do their signature handshake imitating lightsabers. I rolled my eyes at their antics.

"How many children are y'all friends with. Seriously I'm concerned especially you Destiny." Robin raised her eyebrows. I stuck my tongue out letting Dustin back in my arms.

"My baby I missed you! The other idiots are nowhere near as fun. Let's sit!" I dragged him to a booth, Steve following close behind. "Robin! Sundae pretty please!" I called for her.

"Sooo don't be shy tell us about science camp." Steve said. We sat on both sides of Dustin. The maroon seats squeaked with each movement.

"Amazing and get this, I met a girl. Hotter than Phoebe Cates too!" He smirked scooping his ice cream sundae Robin just brought to the table.

"No way hotter than phobe cates?" Steve said in disbelief. I scoffed at his immaturity.

"Brilliant too! She doesn't even care that my real pearls are still coming in. She says kissing is better without teeth." He nodded doing his weird tiger growl.

"Gros- I mean that's great for you dusty!" I cringed rubbing his back.

"Yeah! Yeah great proud of you man! That's- wow- really romantic! Yeah." Steve said trying to sound happy for the kid.

"Anyways enough about me what's going on with you too? When I left this summer you were basically inseparable now you two are all iffy." He waved his hand around.

"Psh. Why don't you ask him that." I crossed my arms glaring at my ex.

"I don't know why don't you ask her." He copied me. See this was the exact problem.

"Realll mature Harrington. I broke up with him and he still wants to play innocent." I shook my head.

"I didn't do anything! Actually as far as I'm concerned it was completely spontaneous. You know what we'll talk about this later Sinclair." Steve gave me a pointed look.

"...Righttt back to me I guess. Do you really get to eat as much of this as you want?" Dustin looked at Steve scooping more in his mouth.

"Yeah I mean sure. It's not really a good idea for me though cause I gotta keep in shape for the ladies." He bragged looking at me.

"Yeah and how's that working out for you?" Robin butted in from behind the counter.

"Horrible I'm sure." I faked smile. He rolled his eyes flipping me off.

"Ignore them." He turned back to Dustin.

"She seems cool." He waved his spoon around.

"She's not."

"She is!" We said in unison.

"Anyways where are the other knuckle heads?" I piped up bored with the conversation.

"They ditched me yesterday. My first day back can you believe that shit?" He looked at the both of us eyes bulging.

"Woah! No, for real?"

"Swear to god. Their gonna regret it though big time when they don't get to share my glory." Dustin smirked.

"Glory? What glory?" Steve said.

He looked both ways pushing his food back. "So last night I was trying to get in contact with Suzie and um I..."

"What dusty speak up?" I leaned in.

"I in..." he mumbled off the rest of the sentence.

"Huh? Dude we can't hear you." Steve said leaning his ear in.

"I INTERCEPTED A SECRET RUSSIAN COMMUNICATION!" He yelled. The mall went silent as everybody turned to us. I turned my head whistling casually.

"Jeez okay that's what I thought you said. W-what does this mean?" Steve sat back confused.

"It's mean we could be hero's. True American hero's." Dustin sold his point.

"Huh okay Americans hero's. I can jive with that." Steve stole my lingo. I just watched the two of them in disbelief.

"Mhmm just think of all the ladies you could get now." Dustin stared off clearly imagining the situation.

"Ew. Men disgust me." I scoffed.

"Hey! This goes for you too destiny assuming you're in of course." Both of the boys wiggling their brows trying to get me to join their crazy plan. I rolled my eyes.

"Oh trust me I'm in. And for the record I could have any boy I want so, ha. I'm only joining for the big bucks. Think of how much hush money we could be paid!" I rubbed my hands together.

"Sure you can sweetie. You're beginning to sound like an evil mastermind." Dustin patted my shoulder. I pouted, it's true I totally can, I just don't want to.

"What's the catch?" Steve interrupted us.

"No catch I just need your help."

"Help? With what exactly?" I question feeling a tad skeptical.

"Translation."
