*Ashley’s POV*

From a deep sleep, I was awaken to the sound of John knocking softly on the door and asking me if I was planning on helping  with finishing up the stuffing and making sweet potatoes before the guests arrive for dinner at 4 p.m. I get up and stretch, smiling as I hear their usual “Sherlock-you-need-to-eat” routine this morning. I go to the small bathroom that is currently open and smile as I look at my hair, the honey blondeness was starting to fade finally and it revealed my natural color of a bark of an ash tree that I played in as a child. My eyes reflected my mood today, excited and seemed to be lighter shade of hazel today with gold flecks sprinkled throughout it. Strange, did the blue seem to be bluer in them or was it me? I had just finished cleaning myself up about the time that Sherlock had knocked on the door as if to get my attention yet without startling me. “Ashley, are you decent?” Sherlock asks from behind the door as I smile at how everything was going together. I just finished pulling my brown jumper over my head when I smiled, my back to the door. “Come in Sherlock, I just finished getting ready.” I call back as I smile as he opened the door and he seemed to be dressed for going out.

“Ashley, it seems that I have to get some wine for supper and it’s the kind that John wants so I will be gone for a bit and John has to go check on a patient at the hospital for a bit, will you be ok by yourself until Mrs. Hudson gets back from the farmer’s market?” Sherlock inquires, looking rather nervous about having to tell me that he and John would be gone for a few hours but I was high on happiness that all I can do is smile. “Of course Sherlock, I can finish up cooking and even make some cookies while you are gone if you like. I will be fine so please, no worrying.” I smile up at him as he smiles and places a kiss my forehead just as he had done last night before going downstairs to say his goodbyes to his husband. I put my hair up in a simple bun and check myself one last time then go downstairs to see John looks tired and fighting the embrace of his husband as he tries to kiss him for longer than expected.

Sherlock leaves as John smiles and bids me good morning while I make myself a cup of tea and some toast, earning an eye roll and a slight smile from John as he calls me a miniature Sherlock. “If you like, I can finish up in here so you can go shower before you go to the Hospital.” I smile as he looks relieved and pats my shoulder. “All I need you to do is make sure nothing burns while I am gone. I don’t want you doing too much else other than relaxing. I just want you to be happy.” John expresses as I kiss his cheek, loving that he is treating me like his daughter and I cannot help but smile. “I won’t work too much now, go get ready or you will be late.” I laugh gently as he nods and hurries to get dressed.

The rest of the morning was quiet that I managed to finish reading The Hobbit when I heard the Tardis outside, meaning the Doctor was here. I get up and go to greet them until I am not only greeted by a smiling Doctor and a excited Jack Harkness but I am tackled by the fiery red-head that I thought I would not see until after the Holidays. “Stormy, it is so great to see you!” I almost yell as she grips me harder in her hug. “The Doctor said that he was going to spend Thanksgiving with you, Jack invited me along. I hope I am not intruding, I brought some salad stuff.” She says a little shyly as I smile at her and she lets me go only to be held by Jack from behind and he kisses her neck, showing that he is claiming her.

“Stormy, are you and Jack together…That is great news!” I inquire as I invite my guest into our little flat and Stormy just laughs gently as if it was not so much of a surprise to herself anymore. “I know right, Jack told me everything after I got over my hangover early this morning and well, I guess you can say that I fell in love at first sight.” She simply expresses as Jack holds her hand and kisses it, making me blush and hearing the timer for the oven. “Please do make yourself at home. I was just about to make some cookies for tonight since I don’t know if everyone will have a chance of eating pie or if everyone will just want pie.” I smile as they smile gently at me. I leave them to relax and talk by the fireplace as I hum to myself some silly made-up song when the unexpected happens.
