7. The Investigation

When Ranvijay and team had gone to AR Corp for further investigation, they were informed that their boss Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada was on a business trip and was bound to be back in a few days. No one knew where he had gone. Not even his PA Aman.

They were not able to interrogate the staff without the boss's permission. So deciding on their next step, the team reached Raizada mansion.

It was evening when the CBI team reached the mansion. The security at the entrance informed Nani about their arrival. Giving them permission to enter their threshold, Nani was about to go down from her room when she received a call.

The house was eerily silent. When they were about to get seated, the calling bell started ringing continuously, at the same time crackers started bursting in the middle of the living room. The servants immediately knew whose work it was. They informed Anjali, who, tired from her kids' mischief, immediately came down and apologized for the inconvenience to the guests.

After clearing the living room, Anjali was about to call her Nani when she descended the stairs.

Introducing themselves, they were about to start their interrogation, when Anjali received a call.

Excusing herself, she went towards the garden to talk with her husband, when she started feeling dizzy. Shaking her head and clearing her thoughts, Anjali was about to reply her husband, when she felt suffocated.

Clutching her phone in one hand, she was perspiring and finding it difficult to breathe. Her phone fell down shattering into pieces. Anjali started having wheezing and blood started coming out from her nostrils. Since she was in the backyard garden, no one was able to come to her aid.

Finally, she got fits, and fell down on the ground, becoming totally unconscious.

With a heavy sigh, the shadow went towards a fallen Anjali.

"I'm sorry, but this is necessary. I can't help myself and my emotions are running wild. Unfortunately, you got caught in this web".

With a malicious smile, "let's see who wins this game. Once I lost, but this time I'm the sure winner. Not even God will help unless I withdraw from this game".

With a smirk, the shadow had gone without any trace of it's presence.

As soon as Anjali left, Vasundhara started.

"Ma'am, I would like to know about ASR and his friends. How did you come to know their family.

Nani - Arnav, NK, Sid, Akash and Karan are childhood friends. They have a joint business too but I am not much aware of it. Karan was supposed to finish his work and come straight here. This is nothing new.
Ever since they started their company, they usually meet here at Arnav's study room and discuss.

Meanwhile, Kushi and the rest of the family came and sat beside Nani.

Ranvijay and his team noted each and every person and their body language. Looked like they were all nervous, but nothing abnormal could be detected from them.

The Interrogation was going on in full swing when Anjali's absence was noticed. When questioned her whereabouts, no one knew. Last she was seen taking a call and moving to the backyard garden. That had been half an hour back.

Immediately everyone split into groups and started searching for her, starting from the backyard. While everyone was searching for her, Kushi and Bubbly decided to check the tools house listed at the end of the backyard. The door was locked from outside. That made them doubtful since during day time the door would always be open. Not wasting any time, they informed the gardener to break open the door. What they saw inside made everyone pale.

Lifeline hospital

Anjali was immediately rushed to the ICU. Doctors were trying their best in providing first aid and to find out what was wrong. The family was waiting in the lounge, some praying fervently. The kids were at home, under the Nanny's supervision. Shyam's phone was unreachable.

Kushi did not know what to do. Arnav and his friends were out of reach. She didn't even know when he would be returning. All this was frustrating her.

Vasundhara and Ranvijay were waiting with the family. They were waiting for the doctor to confirm whether it was a natural attack or a planned one.

After sometime the doctors informed that Anjali's condition was fine but she needs rest. Senior doctor Dayal wanted to have a word with Kushi. Not showing her confusion on her face, she made a move to go to the doctor's cabin when Shyam came running. The family was shocked to see his state. His clothes were torn, one eye black, lips bleeding and a wound on his forehead.

Before they could come out from the shock, Shyam barged inside the ICU. Not knowing what to do, the junior doctors went inside immediately and calmed down a hysterical Shyam. Assuring him that his wife was out of danger and fine, they brought him outside where a nurse was waiting to do his first aid.

After a complete check up and declaration from the doctor that Shyam was fine, the family was told to wait in the allotted room for Anjali while Kushi and Shyam would finish the formalities and meet Dr. Dayal.

Vasundhara and Ranvijay accompanied them to get a statement from the doctor for their official records.

"Mrs Jha is out of danger"
