13. The Mysterious Dream

Ranvijay's words were echoing in their ears.

Vasundhara was the first one to recover. She took her a look at the board and then realized what they were missing.

She exclaimed "the dates! Now I understand."

"Chief! How can you be so sure. I understand the dates coincide. But this can be a trap for us too. May be the killer wants to mislead us"
Lavanya's words had sense.

"That's where we have to take the risk. My guess, the next victim will be either Akash or NK. You can ask why not Arnav. Well, their history is really so colorful that Arnav will be the last one to get the most severe and evil punishment. You people may have noticed how his friends worship him, as though he is some emperor".

Dev agreed with Ranvijay "the dates and the name match perfectly. The killer cleverly deviated us so that our plates are full and we don't get the time to assess the situation and by the time he/she is finished with his/her target, we will be left with nothing".

Dev completed with anger in his face.

Ranvijay "but there is a flaw. The name and the number in victims do not coincide. We have to act real quick. Lavanya and Sonakshi, somehow trick the family, and get HER here. Her absence should not be noticed. Think of a plan and get into action ASAP.

Sheetal, Dev, go through the remaining articles. Get in contact with all the numbers shortlisted. I'm sure, There is something bigger than what the friends had told me. Quick. Time is running out.

Vasundhara, any way in which we can contact your friend who is undercover?"

Vasundhara "No, she will let me know if and when she is ready. I don't think it will be anytime soon."

By evening, the team was ready with the next course of action.

Vasundhara received a call from an unknown number.

"Hello"

"Good, hey listen, need to get some details. It's urgent"

"No! The raids can't take place like that! We need proper proof!"

"Fine! You'll know through media as usual I guess".

...The call got cut. Just then she realized that she had a room full of audience.

"That was your friend?"

"Yes, she needs our help".

Ranvijay didn't interrupt what Vasundhara was saying. After she completed, he thought for a few minutes.

The whole team was getting things ready for the next day's execution.

Ranvijay "we need to postpone our plan. I'll talk with the higher officials. Like your friend said, this raid will help us."

Chan...chan...chan....

Arnav stopped typing and looked up.

The room was dark. It was midnight and the temperature was getting colder. Deciding to finish his work later, Arnav closed his laptop when he heard that sound.

Chan..chan.... He could hear anklet sound but when he turned, there was no one. Before he could move forward, someone tapped at his back.

He was shocked to see a stranger in his room that too at midnight.

What surprised him was the stranger was a girl, a young beautiful girl dressed in traditional Rajasthani clothes. But the saree covered nothing and her eyes were alluring and deep.

Arnav lost himself into those beautiful brown eyes.

The girl made him sit on the recliner and perched herself on his lap. His thought process stopped the moment his eyes met her brown ones.

The girl, clad in a red ghaghra, made herself comfortable on Arnav's lap.

There was no gap between them.

Arnav's breaths came out irregularly. He wanted this beauty. Nothing else mattered. His wife, family, friends, profession, all lay forgotten.

The beautiful girl slowly trailed her fingers from his forehead to his lips.

Arnav closed his eyes with pleasure. The girl took hold of his hand slowly and brought it to her heart.

Arnav could feel her heart beat. It was beating like his in an irregular manner.

She moved closer to his ears and whispered in a seductive voice.

"take me!"

He slowly carried her in a bridal style and laid her on the bed. He trailed his fingers from her forehead and reached her lips. She made him lie down near her and came on top of him. Arnav closed his eyes in pure pleasure, when she whispered in his ears seductively.

"Now you will pay for what you did with my family."

Suddenly, the atmosphere changed. Arnav opened his eyes in shock to see that the girl had tied his hands to the bed post. Before he could shout for help, she stabbed him right in his heart with a big knife.

Blood started pouring out like a river.
