16. Revelations

7th February 2020, Raizada Mansion, night at the study room

Shyam Manohar Jha came inside the study room and closed the door with a bang. His anger and frustration was clearly visible in his demeanor.

Arnav, who was going through certain documents, looked up at the sudden intrusion. He smirked and sat back leisurely, knowing that he had his jijaji where he wanted.

Shyam was furious. He looked at Arnav who was sitting with a winning smirk.

Shyam “how dare you manipulate everyone in the family and get your dirty work done. Don't forget, I'll always be there to protect this family from your cunningness”.

Arnav exclaimed with a fake surprise “jiju!!! What are you saying. I didn't do anything. Infact, Nani was the one who approached our lawyer and decided to give my share. I have been nothing but loyal and straight forward. I have confessed my crimes to Kushi too, she has accepted me whole heartedly.”

Shyam knew to what extent Arnav can go to achieve what he wanted.

But this time, he had crossed all limits. Without mincing the words, Shyam Manohar Jha blasted.

Shyam hissed “you are nothing but a conniving, deceitful, dangerous bastard. The family may think that you have mend your ways, but I know the reality. I'm not your sister, who blindly believes your so called changed avatar. You and your so called friends are nothing but murderers. You do remember that all your hands are tainted with blood. Right? If not for me, you people would have been rotting in jail!!”

Arnav stood up from his chair and came near his brother in law.

His voice was calm, the warning was anything but that.

Arnav said in a warning tone, “Mr. Shyam Manohar Jha, remember one thing. I know I have blood in my hands, and it's been a long time since I involved myself directly in anything that can point at me. Don’t make me do the same thing which I did 12 years ago. I've done it once, I can do it again. Just because you are my sister's husband doesn't mean you can threaten me at every given chance. Mind your words"

Before Shyam could respond, Arnav took a few papers from his file and gave them to Shyam.

Arnav “I guess these papers now hold value. I'm more powerful than you. Be careful when you accuse me. This time I forgive you. But next time, I won't even remember that you are my sister's husband!!”

Furiously, Shyam left the study. In his hurry, he failed to notice the two figures who had listened to the entire conversation. Making sure that the coast was clear, they went away from that place to their respective rooms.

First man “He has got suspicious. He has appointed a private investigator to search her history. We have to deviate him. If this continues, he will surely come to know the truth.”

The second man thought for some time. He said, “Do you have the details of the Private investigator?”

The first man nodded no.
After a few minutes, the first man said, “he has succeeded in his first plan. The properties belong to him now. He has cleverly manipulated everyone from his family, even my threats don’t work on him anymore.”

The second man got afraid, “be careful. He is very dangerous. If he digs more, he’ll know that she survived. And then he will finish the unfinished. I want my sister to be safe. Do something Bhai. She is the only one whom I have as a family. I don’t want her to leave me too”.

With  tears, the second man said, “Please keep her safe Bhai. She thinks her mission will complete once she gets hold of him. She doesn’t remember what happened in the past. The accident has completely erased her memories.”
