20. Betrayal

2nd  March 2020, morning 9 am, conference room, CBI guesthouse

Looking at Kushi with an incredulous look, Ranvijay asked, “are you sure?”

Kushi didn’t waver. She said “I have proof.”

Vasundhara and the rest of them were going through the new reports which Kushi had shown them.

Lavanya was boiling in anger “this means he is not what he shows himself to be. That bastard!!!!”

With an expressionless face, Kushi said “his friends knew who he was. Yet, they decided to get rid of HIM and replaced him cleverly.”

Two people were flabbergasted at the new revelations. They looked at each other and were thinking on the same lines. “what the hell just happened? What do we tell HIM now?”

Flashback

Not able to run anymore, he looked for shelter and went towards the make shift shed when he felt a blow. Blood started dripping and his vision was getting blurred. Turning towards the attacker, his eyes widened in shock.

He started walking backwards when he felt the second blow in his legs.

There were a total of 5 people surrounding him and attacking him.

Not able to withstand the blows, he fell down. His body started convulsing yet no one helped him. In the middle of the night, surrounded by trees, there was not a single soul to witness the crime except for the five elements, air, water, land, sky and fire.

He asked in a low painful voice, “why?”

Smirking at him, the 5 people started pouring alcohol on him, making him ready.

After making sure that he was still alive with little consciousness, they lit fire on his body.

He got burnt to ashes. The entire group stood looking at his burning visage with cruel smile. They sighed in relief.

Finally, they got rid of this disturbance.

Making sure that there was no proof left, they drove back to their respective cottages, forgetting that nature will repay with interest what they did to those poor souls.

3rd March 2020, morning, CBI guesthouse

He went towards the study room in a hurry and closed the door. Pacing around the room, he called his trusted man again, but no one picked up.

Arnav's POV

Dammit !!! Where the hell is Rahul? I'm going to kill him. How dare he ditch me at the last minute. I need to get hold of all the proofs. Before that, I need to get her signature before that old hag starts suspecting me.

Arnav contemplated something in his mind and then started arranging the files. He took a specific bunch and verified it again to make sure that they were perfect.

Sighing in contentment, he carried the files towards his room.

Kushi?”

“Ji Arnavji?”

“I need your signature on some papers.”

Without replying, she took hold of a pen and stood in front of him.

“I trust you with my everything Arnavji. Tell me, where should I sign?”

Signing the papers, Kushi was about to move when she felt a pull. Before she could realize what happened, Arnav was hugging her.

Inhaling her scent, he kissed her neck and huskily whispered, “Kushi, we have professed our love, why you are still postponing our first night? Are you still uncomfortable and afraid of me?”

With a small smile, she hugged him back and told him, “No Arnavji, I am not afraid of you. I love your touch. Its just that there’s already too much going on in our lives. I want all this mess to get sorted before we begin our life. Is it wrong Arnavji?”

Not wanting to show his disappointment, he just nodded his head and kissed her forehead.

“I can wait for a lifetime for you Kushi. Don’t worry. You are right. Let this mess get sorted, we’ll start everything fresh.”

Happy that Arnav understood her, Kushi made her way towards the living room, while Arnav , after closing the room door, went towards the terrace garden and made a call.

“Hello”

“I’ll send you the documents, check them, send them for proper investigation and then let me know. I need the reports at the earliest.”

“ok, will let you know the status”

Finishing the call, Arnav went away, completely missing the two shadows.

Flashback

“Where do you think you are going darling?”

“Please, leave me, I trusted you! Why are you doing all this. In a few days, its our marriage, what will your parents think?”

With an evil glint, he said “what parents, whose parents, did you meet anyone like that? You just believed whatever I said and talked in phone, believing me. Do you really think they are my parents?”

With disbelief written in her face, she stood like a statue. Was everything a lie?

“yes darling, I wanted you, I had you, not bad honey, you were a tigress in bed. But now, I don’t have any use of you. Why don’t you…..”

There was a knock on the door before he could complete his words.

Opening the door, he exclaimed, “hey guys!! You are all on right time. Come on in. I have a surprise.”

The 5 new people looked at her from head to toe making her squirm uncomfortably.

“Wow dude, she is really something. You remember our promise?”

The first guy “of course man, she is all yours. I have had my share. Now its your turn to enjoy.”
