4. The Marriage

"Vivah sampan hua" (The marriage is complete)

After receiving blessings from the elders, the newlywed couple, Arnav Singh Raizada and Kushi Gupta Raizada were ready for the press meet.

"Sir, is it true that you have married Kushi Gupta for getting your ancestral property?"

"Ma'am, how do you feel being married at this tender age of 18?"

"What is the main reason for getting a bride from such a below poverty line family when there are many sophisticated women in our society who are ready to marry you?"

"Is she pregnant?"

Aman Mathur, ASR's PA, assisted the reporters to the banquet hall and made them seated saying ASR will be arriving in few minutes with his wife and answer their questions.

The event was live; hence the whole of the business world was wondering the secret behind such a marriage, where neither the status nor the age of the couple gave any clarity.

Before any chaos could break, ASR and his newlywed wife made an appearance to the media and started their interview.

"Thank you for coming at such a short notice everyone. It means a lot.

Coming to your queries, well, Kushi is neither a poor girl, nor is she 18year old.

Let me introduce my wife, Kushi Gupta, an investigative journalist, a self made individual. My marriage with Kushi was decided when we were kids. So there is nothing new for us since we have known each other for ages. Hers and my family are friends from three generations.

Regarding age, she is 25years, and I'm 32. Not much of a difference since in our country we have couples who have much more difference in age.

It's a love cum arranged marriage. Hope all your doubts are cleared.

"Sir, why did you keep this matter away from media if you were engaged from childhood?"

"There are so many women who are heartbroken because of you, is it true that you had different relationships with so many models even after being engaged from childhood?"

"What about her family members. As far as we can see, only the Raizada family is present here."

The crowd dispersed with a lot of chattering. All this while Kushi was silent and didn't even realize when the interview got over. Feeling a soft touch on her hand, she looked at her sister in law, Anjali Jha, sister of the ASR, guiding her to take some rest before the reception party begins.

"Kushi, take some rest while chotey finishes his work. You look tired."

Anjali felt pity for this poor girl. She was raged over her brother's insensitive and totally boisterous attitude. His lies were so convincing that no one could find out what the reality is. The elders in the family have resigned to fate regarding their only heir's behavior.
