CHAPTER FIVE

kevin was quiet for a bit trying to find a way to break the silence...he hated silence. "well after his death in february, and just so you know i'll be skipping some of the small events that aren't really that important, but after his death in february, corona got worse in march and cause schools to get cancelled for the rest of the year and quarentine and it spread so much it turned into a PANDEMIC". melanie was in shock and she wasn't able to think. "oh i forgot to tell you that there were also australian wildfires and lemme think....but the corona thing started in china then spread to the US and Iran and America almost went to war, uhhhhh.......in may (so last month) we got MURDER HORNETS but luckily their predator is the praying mantis and an innocent man of color named george floyd was murdered by a police officer and after his death and a few other people's death many, many, MANY people started peaceful protests on the black lives matter movement again and the police officers started the violence turning them into riots when they are framing the innocent protesters. there are also looters who are just taking advantage of the protests as a chance to break into stores and steal things and starting fires and then leave the protests by blaming it on the protesters. and um now uh...get ready..." "for what?" "...NASA found a PARALLEL UNIVERSE WHERE TIME GOES BACKWARDS" "WAIT REALLY" ava interrupted their little recap by saying in a sarcastic manner "YES THERE IS A PARALLEL UNIVERSE now calm down i haven't slept in ages" melanie felt a bit bad for yelling and apologized. about twenty minutes later they were in oklahoma and even though the time went by super slow they actually got there pretty fast. once they all passed the oklahoma state sign danny put on the song "Oh klahoma" by Jack Stauber and they were all singing for a good while until glen got exhausted of driving and stopped and parked at a little motel and checked in and then glen, danny, and kevin got one room and ava and melanie (it's mel from now on) got to share a room (with seperate beds duh) and ava and mel were both pretty excited because it's the closest thing to having a sleepover even though they're gonna live together so once they got all settled in ava got in the shower. mel was pretty bored since ava takes long showers so she turned on the tv. after what felt like hours of scrolling through all the channels and finding nothing to watch she turned off the tv. she looked for her phone that kevin had gave her back when they sneaked out.

~time skip~

ava was already out the shower and was fast asleep but for some reason mel couldn't sleep. no matter how many times she tosse and turned she couldn't sleep. she went on her phone one last time and it was 2:00 am so she turned her volume and her brightness all the way down to not wake up ava. after like five minutes mel heard some sound in the hallway. ironically ava woke up complaining about the noise so they both got out of bed and left their room to search the hallways to tell who ever is making all the noise to shut up. they walked and talked all through the hallway and back but as they got close to what seemed the room making all the noise mel looked around to see ava disappeared and when she called out to her and there was no answer...she started to panick. she started running to her motel room and as she got closer she felt a hand on her mouth and one on her waist. then she got pulled into a room.
