CHAPTER SIX

mel was moritfied that she was about to get kidnapped but luckily the first thing that came to her mind was self-defense. she kept her eyes closed because she was in fear of everything that just happened but she quickly grabbed his arm and twisted it until she was holding it against his back and lifted up the arm until she either broke it or the suspected "kidnapper" cried for help. she heard a familiar "ow ow ow ow!" and she let go and she finally had the courage to open her eyes. it was danny. she quickly apologized and ran to find some ice. she came back to danny, glen, and kevins room with some ice and gave it to danny. she almost yelled in frustration "what the hell is wrong with you??". danny put the ice on his arm and then looked at glen. kevin was in the bathroom of course (let's just say he ate one too many gas station taquitos). glen explained how there was something off about the people staying and working in the motel and how since they all felt unsafe they had to leave. mel remembered about ava. "WHERE IS AVA!?". glen and danny looked at each other. "don't worry" glen said. "she's fine she went back to your room to pack up all your stuff again" "ohhh okay". kevin came out the bathroom in surprise of seeing mel sitting on the bed and why danny had an ice pack resting on his arm.

~time skip~

everyone quickly got in the car with their bags and just waiting for glen because they were getting the last of things such as chargers, taking pens and paper from their room and so on. after about five minutes everyone was in the car and mel later down. fast asleep. ava also went back to sleep considering she's always an either really energetic person or really lazy. never in between. after kevin, glen, and danny has switched turns in driving for what felts like decades they arrived to alabama...(of course kevin played the song "sweet home alabama" started singing. glen and danny joined in being loud e rough that ava woke up and so did melanie.

they arrived to florida. it was melanies turn to choose a song and she chose her favorite song which was "bad idea" by girl in red even though it was a GREAT idea to move all the way across the country for a fresh start. since everyone in the friend group was an orphan with no siblings they all learned to sustain themselves and living together was an even better idea. ava was driving this time and she drove
pretty close to home but she got tired right around the corner of their county sign. duval county. melanie offered to drive but kevin didn't let her go even near the steering wheel since she had no idea where the house was. kevin drive to the house. they arrived and melanie was surprised that the house was bigger and prettier than she could even imagine. "THERE IS NO WAY THIS IS OUR HOUSE" ava quickly got energized and said "yep. you better believe it". they all had a spare key and ava gave the one reserved for melanie to her and everyone gathered around her while laughing like it was the ribbon cutting to a new mall or something and said "will turn do the honors mel?" mel got the key and opened the door. she was surprised to see what was inside.
