Suddenly, there were screams of terrors coming from all directions. She looked around and saw the chaos that is happening right in front of her.

"Oh no! What in the world..?" she shrieked as someone ran past and accidentally shoved her. Sending her to the ground.

"These people are going crazy! I need to take cover!"

In a scurry, she stood up and ran as fast as she could to a shelter. Actually, to anywhere other than here.

"Where are you going little girl?" an eerie voice boomed. She looked around, but there was no one, no one at all. Feeling confused, she continued running, even faster than before.

"Aha! A door!" she felt slightly relieved. "I'll be safe in here."

Just when she was about to turn the doorknob, she felt a pressure on her shoulder.

"Stop running, you can't run forever... little girl.."

It was the same voice as earlier on. She slowly turned her head and...

"Mia! I told you to write a song from actual experience, not a horror story! Sit down."

Oof...

Jade thought as she turned her head towards her classmate, Mia, who was sitting near the windows. She had stopped reading aloud, mid-sentence, from the paper that she was holding. Turning her head towards where the voice was coming from, she saw her teacher at the front of the class. She shook her head and crossed her arms.

That doesn't look like a good sign.

Jade puckered her lips out of nervousness as the girl smiled sheepishly, not directed to anyone, and sank down on her chair.

"And this is why, students, we have to always keep the objective of the assignment in check!" the teacher sighed.

Having this teacher before in freshman year, some of the students groaned, foreboding what was coming next.

"I might have to make some changes to this assignment since most of you are struggling with it. Look into your email for revised instructions by the end of this week. Now, let us not waste any more time and start the lesson."

Jade left the classroom with heavy steps. She knew for a fact that the altered project scope will affect her. Unlike the other students in the class, she had already started on a draft for this submission.

"Yo, what's up, baby girl? What's with the frown?" a manly voice brought Jade back to reality. It was none other than her brother's best friend, Dominic Evans. With his arms wrapped around a petite girl's shoulder, he walked towards Jade smugly.

Jade rolled her eyes at Dominic and gave a tiny comforting smile to the girl. The newest edition to Dominic's brightly coloured garden of flowers, she supposed. In other words, just another fling of his. Poor girl. He was infamous for breaking the hearts of girls after their fifth date. However, even with such a reputation, there was a snaking line of girls who would do anything just to have those five dates with him.

Before any of them had the chance to say another word, another being squeezed himself between Dominic and Jade.

"Going to my house today?" Conrad asked as he lightly pushed Dominic away from his sister, separating both of them.
