Chapter 28 - heartbreak and happiness

*14 years later*

*HANNAH'S POV*

I heard the door of our house slam and loud footsteps heading up the stairs and then another door slammed.
'Is Mac ok?' He asked me.
'I have no idea. She ran straight up to her room.' Lewi headed upstairs and I followed behind him.
He opened Mackenzie's bedroom door and we found her lying on her bed crying.
'Mac?' Lewi ran over to her. 'What's happened little one?' She sat up and threw her arms around her dad's neck.
'He's gone!' She cried. 'He, he...'
'Come on Mac, what's she done?!' I heard anger
'He cheated dad! He cheated!' She cried into Lewi's chest and he held her close. I sat down in the bed and saw Lewi's face turn red.
Mackenzie pulled away and I pulled her into a hug. Lewi got up and I saw his hands clench into fists.
'Dad please don't do anything.' She said wiping her eyes.
'I'm not going to do anything bad.' He replied. 'Who did he cheat on you with?'
'A girl called Laura.'
'Where does she live?'
'Lewi!' I saw my daughter smile.
'I'll show you.' She got up and headed down the stairs. I sighed and followed them both.

*LEWI'S POV*

'That's her house.' Mackenzie said.
'Come with me.' I replied. I turned around to Hannah.
'I'm staying here.' She said and I chuckled a bit.
I walked up the steps to this girls house with Mac and knocked on the door. A girl opened it.
'Oh hey Mac! What's wrong?' The two girls hugged.
'Is your boyfriend here?' She asked.
'Yeah. Lucas, come here.' I saw a boy with dark hair walk down the stairs. When he saw me and Mackenzie he froze.
'Did you know your boyfriend is a lying cheat?' I asked Laura.
'Excuse me?'
Mac punched my stomach, 'Lucas cheated on me with you.' Mac said through tears. I saw Laura's eyes start to water and Mackenzie pulled her into a hug.
'Get out of my house!' Laura yelled at Lucas.
'Is that your dad Mac?' He asked.
'Yes.' She replied with a smile.
'I-I'm really sorry sir.'
'Oh you will be.' Was all I said and he ran down the stairs and down the road.
'Come here Laura!' Mackenzie said giving her another hug.
'I'm so sorry Mac. I had no idea.' She said through tears.
'It's fine. Do you want to come over for dinner? My dad's making chicken!'
'Oh I would love to! Thankyou very much!' She said closing the door.
We drove back to our house and the girls eventually cheered up. Jake arrived with his wife Iona and so did Danny with his girlfriend. Charley turned up with Lily and the twins half an hour later. Macy showed up as well carrying her eight month old son, Callum.
'How's my little nephew doing?' I asked Macy giving her a kiss on the cheek.
'He's doing fine. How's my little niece doing?' Macy said giving Mac a hug.
'I've been better aunt Macy.' She replied.
'What's the matter dear?'
'Long story.' Mac said taking Callum and taking him to Laura.
'James! Put that down!' Charley said to his son. Lily and Charley had twins, a boy and a girl called James and Jasmine. They were the most troublesome twins you would ever meet. But they always seemed to cheer Mac up and they cheered Laura up today as well.
'It's great seeing you again Iona.' Hannah said to Jake's wife.
'And I hope my brother is treating you right Niyati!' She said hugging Dan's girlfriend.
'He is don't worry!' She said as Danny wrapped his arm around her waist.

A few hours later, Laura was picked up by her mum and Macy went home with Callum.
Me, Han, Mac, Jake, Iona, Dan, Niyati, Charley, Lily and the twins were left in our house. Jake was in the phone to Scooter whilst we were watching tv.
'Guess who's going on a one year world tour next month?' Jake said. 'WE ARE!' He screamed and ran around the living room like a little kid.
'No way! A whole year?!' Danny shouted. All four of us jumped up and started dancing around the room. Eventually we were all dancing. Everyone apart from Mac.
After our little dancing session, everyone left and I was sat on the couch snuggled up with my daughter.
'I'm going to miss you big one.' She said. I looked over to Hannah and she smiled and nodded.
'No need to miss me.' I replied.
'But why? Your going to be gone for a whole year!'
'But, your coming with me!'
'Oh my god Dad! Thankyou! Thankyou! Thankyou!' She squealed and hugged me tight.
'It's ok! I love you little one!'
'I love you too big one!'
'Mum is coming with us as well!' I turned around to Hannah who had the biggest smile on her face. She jumped up and joined in our hug.
''I can't wait!' She exclaimed and we hugged for a few minutes until we sat back down on the couch and fell asleep.
