GROSS

I pulled up to the familiar scene, Blakes cute little cabin styled home. Right outside of his house stood him and Andrew. They were about five seconds away from throwing fists. I climbed out of my bug and slammed the door, it only caught Andrew’s attention.

“Go back home, Christina.” he commanded. His voice was more harsh than I would’ve expected. I still ignored him and attempted to get in the middle of a fight I prayed would never happen.

“No, no,” Blake yelled back “I want her to watch me rip your head off!”

I tried to step in between them but Andrew grabbed my arm and kept me behind him “This is ridiculous!” I shouted “Andrew, let me go!”

Blake stepped forward “You heard the lady, let her go.” he started trembling, just as he had in the forest.

“Christina, leave.” Andrew whispered under his breath some curses after that. I couldn’t see his face but I could hear his teeth grind together “Go, now!” he yelled.

“No!” I shouted “I’m not going to just let you two rip each other apart!” I shoved out of Andrew’s hold and stood in front of Blake “Just go inside, Blake!” I yelled, it had no effect.

Then it happened, Blake transformed into a wolf. It happened so fast, his jeans and shirt shredded apart and drifted onto the grass. His sneakers ripped open and flew in behind him. His hair grew out everywhere, and his hands snapped, popped and got bigger and bigger. The same thing happened to his legs and feet.

His face was probably the oddest thing to watch transform. His eyes widened slightly and his ears became pointed and covered in fur. His nose and mouth outstretched to fill out the lower half of his face.

He stood there in front of me on all fours, as a wolf. His fur blew with the wind. I had seen it happen in movies, but I always knew that it was fake and filled with special effects. I found myself wondering if every special effects artist is a werewolf, because they’re strangely accurate to exactly what happens during the transformation.

Blake’s fur is completely black, just like his hair. He was snarling at me and Andrew. I stumbled backwards into Andrew. He shoved me in behind him and snarled right back at Blake.

I suddenly remembered that Blake can read my mind, I can just plead with him through my thoughts.

Blake, I mentally called while staring into his huge black eyes, Please, stop… go inside, leave… run off into the woods, just please dont fight, I pleaded.

He looked back into my eyes, Please, Blake, just go, I mentally begged him to back down. I think that he actually listened to my thoughts because he turned around and tromped off into the woods.

I sighed with relief. Andrew spun around to face me “Are you alright?” he asked.

I batted my eyelashes, astonished “I think so.” I answered “Just, um… wow.” I managed.

He huffed and twitched his nose “I know, it’s not what you thought it would be, huh?”

“It was so, dirty, like… kind of gross, or something.” I flinched “It was… messed up.”

He chuckled “Yes, it is kind of messed up.” he walked over to the bug “Come on, we should leave.” he opened the driver side door and hopped in. I got in the passenger side.

“Why can’t I drive my own car?” I asked once I had my seatbelt on.

“I didn’t think that you would want to drive.” we pulled away from the house “Because of all the stress.”
