After a week of training and gathering supplies the gang were ready for to attack
Everyone was one their dragons with their gear and supplies needed for the mission but one person was missing
"Has anyone seen Hiccup? He isent here its not like him to be late for a big mission like this." Fishlegs reminded them
"Ya Hiccup is usually the first one here waiting on all of us and it's usually snotlout being the last one ready." Heather said adding onto Fishlegs statment
Just then Hiccup and Toothless walked in, Hiccup looking very pale and seeming like his legs would give out at any moment.
"Sorry I'm late I couldn't find my leg." Hiccup said as he got on Toothless
"What do you mean couldn't find your leg?" tuffnut questioned "Its connected to your body." Tuffnut finished not completely understanding Hiccups statment
"Hes talking about his prostetic." Ruffnut said clearing things up for her brother
"Hiccup you dont look so well are you sure you can fly?" Heather said with worry in her voice.
"Of course I can dont worry I'm fine I'm not missing out on this mission even if I am a bit sick." Hiccup replied stubbornly
"I'm with Heather on this one Hiccup you dont look well at all." Fishlegs added
"Guys if Hiccup says he can fly so lets get going already" Snotlout said as he was annoyed at waiting
"Lets go gang" Hiccup says as he clicked Toothless' tail into position and leaped in to the air
Hiccup was flying fine for the first minute of the flight and the Edge was still in sight but after the second minute passed Hiccup started to sway in the saddle Heather was the only one keeping eyes on them as everyone else was infront.
All of a sudden Hiccup fell off Toothless and they were both falling over the ocean
"WINDSHEAR DIVE AFTER THEM!" Heather shouted catching the other riders attention as they drove after Hiccup and Toothless they flew beside Hiccup Flying at the same speed they were falling, Heather pulled Hiccup into her lap and played him down and Windshear caught Toothless in her claws and started flying back up to meet up with the rest of the gang.
"What happened to Hiccup?" Asked Astrid worried
"I dont know he was infront of me and Windshear flying fine for the first minute or so then he just passed out and fell off Toothless." Heather explained to them
"Ha I guess Hiccup couldn't take the stress of leading this mission. I guess it's time for Snotman to be leader."
Snotlout said with excitement thinking he would get to be the leader of the big mission
"Why can't we be the leaders of the mission?" Said tuffnut pointing to himself and ruffnut
"Yeah two heads are better then one whole Snotlout for leading." ruffnut said reinforcing tuffnut's argument
"Oh please we all know this guy is the best for leading big missions." Snotlout said pointing to himself
"Actually with Hiccup unconscious the next most qualified person to be leader would be Astrid" Fishlegs butted in
"Thank you fishlegs I'm the most stratigic thinker here besides Hiccup
I dont know as much about strategy as Hiccup but I know how to keep people in line and follow orders."
Astrid commented supporting Fishlegs opinion.
"Why should we follow you?" tuffnut said
"Because if you dont I'll punch your lights out got it?" Astrid said holding up her fist
Tuffnut shrunk back a bit at the statement Astrid made and nodded
"Heather you take Hiccup back to the edge and stay behind and look after while we go on and continue the mission as planned."
"Why does she get to stay behind"
Snotlout asked iritataion seeping in to his voice
"Heather is the most qualified one to take care of Hiccup she has many years of survival expirance and is good with medicine and she's the only one I trust not to screw it up besides Fishlegs and we if the edge is attack while we are gone Heather can get out of there fast and take Hiccup and Toothless with them, no offence Fishlegs but Meatlug cant carry a dragon and 2 people." Astrid explained to with a bit of annoyance in her voice
"None taken Astrid." Fishlegs responded to Astrid's statement
"While all that's true are you sure you guys dont need me?" Heather asked worried
"Dont worry Heather we'll be fine you take care of Hiccup." Astrid reassured her "besides when he wakes up hes going to want to catch up with us and your job is going to be making him stay on the edge." As soon as Astrid she flew closer and whispered in Heather's ear "besides this way you can have some alone time with him to work up the courage to tell him how you feel.
As soon as Astrid finished her statment she left to take the gang forward to the mission Heather started blushing thankfully none of the gang noticed except for Astrid who smiled at Heather
"Come on gang let's go destroy those ships." Astrid said to everyone going on the mission.
Heather watched them leave with a smile "Come on Windshear back to the edge." Heather said as the flew back to the edge Heather had some thinking to do about how to tell Hiccup how she feels about him.
Whew that's a 903 word chapter my longest by far I hope you all enjoy the first real chapter for this feedback is welcomed in the comments as well as any constructive criticism I wrote this in the car on my way to the dentist and back
